Perfect Pitch!

by Alicia Barry | June 28, 2016
Perfect Pitch!

Today I have a layout project to share using the new iwood paper collection from Ruby Rock-It. These papers are perfect for male projects. I'm always quick to make pretty girly projects, but my poor boys often get overlooked. Not that I don't have tonnes of great photos of them, I do, but most of the papers I work with are pretty feminine. These iwood papers are a great option.

For the background, I used a strip of corrugated cardboard, then cut another of the iwood papers into strips, then raised some on foam dots, and arranged them back together, varying the heights.

For the embellishments, I made use of the graduation mini theme die cut pack. While the majority of the pieces are obviously school themed, I was able to choose a select number of them that were more generic. Once they were arranged with the sporty photo, they worked perfectly for the baseball theme.

4th of July Fun!

by Teresa Horner | June 25, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here today to share a quick and easy project to decorate for 4th of July this year.  I had lots of fun prints and solids in my Ruby Rock-it stash in red, white and blue so i got them all out and matched up some of my favorites and got to work.

So first up- you will need some of the prints from the Fusion paper line in red and blue swirl and then a bit of the kraft with blue glittery stars.  I also used just white cardstock to mat the back of the stars and then got an idea to use some of the corrugated paper that we just got in red to add a bit of texture to it.  I cut the banners about 4 inches wide and 6 inches long so that i could get more out of my paper.  I just flagged the bottoms of each of them and glued them together to start.  The small piece of corrugated paper is about 1 inch wide by 4 inches and again i flagged both ends.
On top of each of the banner pieces i die cut a few white doilies to put on top so that my gold letters would really pop out.  I used letter from both the Heritage collection and also smaller gold letters from the Happy Days collection.  They are already sticky so it's easy to just add them to my piece.

Next i used a hole punch and tied all the banner pieces together.  For the stars I punched a hole in the top corner of each but then i left a space between each of the banner pieces and tied each one on with a knot after cutting them like you can see below.  It just gave it a little more of a country feel like i was looking for and the kraft paper really helped make it look nice i think.
Below is a finished picture of the whole banner on my table.  I am going to put it up on my mantle and decorate but i need to make a few more things so i will share those later.

And i even got a bit of inspiration to make a few candles to decorate and some knapkin holders for my silverware and such for our barbecue that day.  These are pretty much done the same way and i used leftover scraps from the banner so it was easy and i didn't have to buy more paper.  I did use one new paper for it from the Hearts and Stripes paper line.  There was a beautiful blue strip and i cut some fun fancy circles out of it and it looks kind of like the flag so i made up a bunch.

Thanks for stopping over today and checking out what is new for us her on the Ruby Rock-it blog.
Also here is a supply list just in case you need to stop over to the store to pick up a few things:
Happy Days Gold letters
Other: Ribbons, dies, paper trimmer, scissors and Beacon 3 in 1 adhesive.
Have a fun and very crafty day!!

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there. Today I get to share with you my second iWood project for this month. I wanted to create something girly & sparkly with the awesome iWood papers & this is what I came up with: Princess Door HangerChristine Santos

Bella products used: iWood Version 4.0 paper; Baby Girl Die Cut Pack; Baby Girl 3D Stickers; Bella Metallic Droplets; Bella Fabric Trim; Bella Florals IMG_9604

I've mixed & matched the lovely texture of the iWood paper with the beautiful Baby Girl Mini Theme collection. This piece will look great hanging on the wall or as a door hanger. IMG_9601

For a touch of softness, a White Bella Fabric Trim was added on some corners. The White Bella Florals look great with the iWood paper & Baby Girl Die Cuts. IMG_9605

How amazing are the glittery die cuts? Paired with the beautiful imagery & droplets, the result is quite mesmerizing. And there you have it, a décor made for a little princess. Thanks for popping in & do check out the rest of the iWood collection here.

Cheers,

Coffee with love

by Beckie Dreyer | June 21, 2016
Coffee with love
Well there is seriously nothing better than starting the day with coffee, wouldn't you agree!?
Today I am here to share with you a project I made to help carry my coffee's.
This project started life as one of the cup carriers which the store offers.  I gathered all my supplies and set to work ...
Products Used
The carrier is flat when you get it so I was able to decorate it easily.  I used the iwood collection as the base as I love the rustic look it gives.  I dressed it up using the Graduation Mini Theme papers as the colours matched really well with the iwood papers.
The quote I used along the top was taken from the original carrier and I liked it so much that I didn't want it not to be seen.
I hope I have inspired you to take some thing ordinary and create something new!  The iwood is a perfect place to start and you can find it at your local RRBF stockist.
Have a great day!

Cheers for Daddy!

by Erin Yamabe | June 14, 2016
Cheers for Daddy!
It is almost Father's Day here in the States, so the Ruby Rock-It team have some ideas to help you celebrate this special day.  I have created this layout using some of the new iwood papers, along with some die cuts, and wood veneers from other collections.

I started off by adding texture and dimension to the iwood background using 3D stamp paint through a stencil, some crackle paint and black glass glitter. I added some tiny chipboard pieces also. I used mesh tape along with more iwood paper for the embellishments.

I used a little bit of scrap paper from the Bolt collection, along with corrugated cardboard. I also used a combination of wood and die cut foil fleur-di-lis, plus some wood cogs.

You Are Simply Amazing, Dad!

by Teresa Horner | June 11, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock it fans and happy Friday to all of you.  It's almost time for Father's day so today i have a few cards that i did up with some scraps that i had just to make it quick and fun.  These are good cards for your kids to make up too and they can personalize them anyway they want to make them even more special.

This was a super easy card that i made using the kraft tastic line of papers.   I mixed it with one
of the sentiment cards and the new corrugated papers in red.   I also added one of the die cut
spaceships from the new boys line.
Here is an up close view of all the pretty colors in this line.  Kraft is one of my favorite things to work with because it can be so versatile and the patterns on this line are really fun to use.
This card i did with the new "Bolt" paper line.  I loved the pretty colors of this one and it was fun to make up my own title using the alphabet stickers in silver to go with it.  I forget about these fun little sets and they really are wonderful to use when you want to say something special and you don't have the right sentiment to do.  Each pack comes with lots of different sized letters to you can create something really nice.
One of my favorite new products by Ruby Rock it is the corrugated papers in colors.  They have kraft, red, pink, black, white and yellow and they go perfect with all the new lines just released this last year.

And this one was fun to make up for a little gift bag.  I used a pre-made kraft bag and then cut out a piece of the new yellow corrugated paper and matted it in white cardstock and then used a tag from the Kraftastic line and added a sentiment word and the Dad letter in gold to match.  The little stars come in the letter set and you even numbers so that is always handy to record those important dates.

Here is a quick view of the alphabet stickers and some of the colors that they come.  They are my favorite go to for pages and lots of other things and there is so many of them in each package.  It's really nice to have lots of these on hand.

And that's all for my share today and i hope i gave you some fun ideas to create a few cards with your kids for their dads this year.  Have a wonderful day!!
