This sweet girl

by Alicia Barry | March 29, 2016
This sweet girl
This month at Ruby Rock-It, we are featuring the most beautiful new collection called Faded Empire.    I have used a combination of papers and die cuts from the collection along with bling trim and florals. The background paper is very pretty and detailed, so I wanted that to be the focus of the layout rather than adding too much over the top.
Some delicate die cut leaves added some extra foliage without detracting too much from the rest of the design.
The blog trim beaded in beautifully with the background, while adding just the right amount of sparkle.

Time for Tea

by Teresa Horner | March 26, 2016

Hey Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here on this Fabulous Friday with a fun share using the brand new "Faded Empire" Paper Collection.  I had so many ideas for this collection but the one thing that really caught my eye was all the gorgeous roses and the colors so i decided to make up some special gift bags for hosting a tea and a few other goodies to decorate and give out for my guests.

By far one of my most favorite things to do in life is going to tea.  I love the biscuits, the lovely little sandwiches and all the other special yummy things you get when you go.  So with my mind spinning with all the ideas -- i got to work to create a few boxes and bags to have my own tea or maybe even give a few as lovely gifts for Mother's Day.

For the top acetate gift box i thought it would be fun to make a cute cover for it.  I used a die to cut the gorgeous papers and layer them over a belly band i put all around the box.  Then i added a few of the die cuts and some beautiful ribbon.  And of course it needed a few jewels so i added rhinestones and the droplets to give it a little more shine.  I really love how this one came out with the crown.

And below that is a pretty placecard that i did up quick if you decide to have your own tea.  It's super easy with the dies and the droplets look quite nice on it.  All you do is print up their names with a beautiful calligraphy pen or do them on the computer and print them out.

And this Tea giftcard was really fun to make.  I love using things in a different way and originally this middle piece on the tag had a heart on it but i found the clock covered it perfectly and then i added one of the lazer cut wooden keys and a bow.  Inside i put "It's time for Tea" with a small pocket i did with paper and then i can add a few tea bags or maybe even a Tea Gift card.  If you ever find the paper needs to pop a little more be sure and add some chalk ink around the edges.
It really makes it look nice.

And i just kept going as you can see.  There is so many beautiful patterns so i also made this pretty heart box by covering the sides and top with paper and then adding a bit of lace and bling to it.
The tag on the bottom left comes in the die cuts so all i had to do for that is add ribbon.  So easy!
And lastly who wouldn't want to have matching coasters for your tea cups?  These were so easy to die cut with some dies from my stash and now everyone can have a lovely tea and chat the afternoon away.  Couldn't think of a more fun way to spend the afternoon!
Thanks so much for stopping over to see what's new on the Ruby Rock-it blog and i hope that you all have a really wonderful day .....

Be your own kind of beautiful

by Christine Santos | March 24, 2016

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there. Today I get to share with you my second Faded Empire creation which is a reverse canvas: Be. CanvasChristine Santos

For the background I added the lovely iWood paper. It matches the colors of the Faded Empire collection. IMG_8561Christine Santos

The best part about Spring are the blossoming flowers, & this is the inspiration of the canvas. The flower cluster here are made up of Bella florals & pressed flowers from our garden. Flowers were left in the press for at least 3 months & then sprayed with a fixative.

IMG_8566Christine Santos

One of my favourite papers from the collection is the Black Corrugated specialty paper. Behind it is the Blue Glittered Dancette. IMG_8565Christine Santos

Faded Empire comes with pretty Droplets to match the lovely shades of the collection. The gold foiled Chipboard Alphas come from the same collection too. IMG_8568Christine Santos

On top of the canvas is a pretty strip of Bella fabric & bling. IMG_8562Christine Santos

Flowers can be added/changed in the little jar on this canvas. Here's the Bella/Ruby Rock-It product recap: Faded Empire Papers, Chipboard Alphas & Droplets; iWood Paper; Bella Florals; Bella Bling with Fabric Trim; Glittered Dancette. From the heart | Faded Empire

by Erin Yamabe | March 22, 2016

Hello Ruby Rock-It Fans!  Erin here today with you, to kick off a week with some lovely Off the page projects from our team!

One thing I love collecting, are frames!  Of all shapes and sizes!

I started with choosing one of our 4x6 cards from our papers, to accompany my photo.  Inking the edges adds to the gorgeous vintage feel in this range.  I've added in one of our golden diecut embellishments, alongside some of our pretty droplets!

Next, I created this lovely heart collage here in the right corner.  It's a favorite diecut, this envelope heart from Sizzix.  I've paired the inside with a doily, a rose diecut and one of our florals, inked.  Additionally, I've brought in some twine, and tied in one of our tag embellishments from our diecut pack.

Supply List:

Faded Empire papers

Faded Empire diecut pack

Faded Empire droplets

Thank you for stopping by and making Ruby Rock-It a part of your creative day!

Be back Wednesday with a lovely project from Christine!

Faded Empire | Creative Cards with Beckie

by Beckie Dreyer | March 17, 2016
Faded Empire | Creative Cards with Beckie
Hello, it's Beckie here to share with you some cards that I made with the beautiful Faded Empire range.
Products Used
I made this a gatefold card as I like this style of card for a base.  I used some spellbinders dies to create the central piece.  I loved the little bird cage in the Empire die cut pack so wanted to incorporate it into the card.

The Empire collection has a lovely vintage feel to me and I wanted to show this in this card.  I loved one of the Empire stamps which I have used as a backing for the 'Happy Birthday' which is shown in the picture above.  I also scrunched the rose die cut to give it some texture.

For this card I used to gold alphabet and decided to make a bold statement on the front!  Teamed with some of the sentiments from the mini alphabet packs the card makes an instant impact on what you are saying!!
Thank for stopping by today and make sure to check out your local stockists for a many fantastic ranges!

Creative Cards | Faded Empire with Alicia
This month at Ruby Rock-It we are featuring the brand new Faded Empire line. This is a beautiful floral collection with gorgeous vintage motifs. Today I have a set of cards to share. I used a combination of papers, die cut pieces, stamps and droplets, all co-ordinating from the same collection.
I used journal tags from the paper collection as a base to build up layers.
I also fussy cut some floral sections from the paper collection. For this one I combined a stamped image, which I fussy cut, with a mini sentiment sticker.
This time I again used a journal tag as my base, then added a row of Bella trim.

Boys will be boys

by Teresa Horner | March 12, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here today to share a new layout i did for Lovin Layouts day.  I used one of the new mini kits for my layout and i so loved all the cute things in the "Baby Boy Mini kit". It has lots of robots and space ships, stars tags and cute sentiments to use too.  And i had the perfect picture for it.

To make this page you will need to cut the star paper down to 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. And then glue it on orange paper.  Cut a band of the striped paper about 4 inches and glue at the bottom.  Then cut another strip of the stripe paper with the sentiment on it and glue it over top of that.  I wasn't sure if it would work but it blends quit well. For my photo i matted it in the red that matches and then in white. I cut a small strip of the polka dotted paper and glued it to the right and then added my photo.
Then i started using some of the super cute images from the "Boy die cut pack".  The robots went so good together and then i added tiny strips of silver paper and a few extra stars to fill in the spaces.

And then i cut out the word handsome to put on the side of the photo and that cute space ship over it.

And lastly i added the rough and tumble words and the boys will be boys and men will be men and ... a few more stars here and there.  The remember tag is from the die cuts and that was perfect to put at the top so my nephew can fill in a little something about that day.  I am making lots of pages for them to put in a book for his first year and this one came out super cute!  That's all for my share today but be sure and check back again for more inspiration with all the new papers just released.
Thanks too for stopping by and hope you have a very happy and crafty week!

Sweet signs of Spring

by Christine Santos | March 10, 2016

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hello & happy March to you! Today I get to share with you a layout featuring the beautiful Faded Empire collection: P3 P4

Gorgeous, right? Since St. Patrick's day is just around the corner, I thought I'd add a touch of green in this page. Spring MemoriesChristine Santos

I was in the "paper" mood while creating this layout. I've layered a couple of pretty Faded Empire papers along with the new iWood paper, Lucite Hearts & Stripes & Happy Days' Mottle Corrugated Cardstock. IMG_8408

This is my daughter's first time enjoying the fruits of her labor. She planted snow peas seeds in our garden last season & she's been watering & looking after it so well. Come spring time she's rewarded with loads of fresh delicious sweet peas! IMG_8411

A Bella page is not complete without some Bella Bling. As you can see in this layout I've added Borderlines Bling which looks great against the Faded Empire & iWood papers. IMG_8412

Check out the pretty banners from the collection's Die Cut Pack. There's heaps of pretty pieces in it. IMG_8418

I've colored the Fundamentals Font Wood Veneers to match the shade of the pea. To finish the layout I've added some Bella Florals & journaling on a Fundamentals Circle Tag. Here's the product recap: Faded Empire Papers & Die Cuts; iWood Paper; Lucite Hearts & Stripes Paper; Happy Days Mottle Corrugated Cardboard; Bella Borderlines Bling; Bella Florals; Fundamentals Font Wood Veneers; Fundamentals White Circle Tag Thanks for popping in & don't forget to check out the lovely Faded Empire collection here. Cheers,
