Sweet Greetings From the Heart

Sweet Greetings From the Heart

There's nothing sweeter than giving a handmade card from the heart to a dear friend or loved one.  It's one of my favorite things to create, and I love that my girls appreciate the craft and sentiment also!

For this first card, I've combined our Hearts and Stripes and IWood papers together.  This is the blue from the hearts and stripes.  It's become one of my favorites, and is so very versatile.

I cut 4 2x2 squares of the IWood paper, and rounded the corners of two of the edges on each square.

They are adhered in a square, leaving a little space in between, for the droplets to be showcased!  A Bella! floral in blue for the center, and our Fundamentals alpha stickers complete this sweet greet!

For the second card, the Bolt and Hearts and stripes papers are combined.  I let the pattern in this beautiful Bolt paper be the design of the card base.  And I rounded the corners on two of the edges.

I love the contrast of our hearts and stripes paper with the foil, and added that down the center.

As you know, I love layers!  I chose two of the circles from one of the Bolt papers to be the foundation for the circles, and then distressed the edges.  And the inner circles also have the distressed edges.  Our droplets are a perfect accent for the centers!

It's also paired with one of our gorgeous Bella! florals!

And our Fundamentals Alpha stickers complete this next sweet greet!

Supply List:

Bolt papers

IWood papers

Sweet baby love | Mini Ranges

Sweet baby love | Mini Ranges
Hi Everyone, Beck Beattie today with my 'Creative Cards' share.  Today I wanted to share with you how I flipped the theme of the papers I used a little to create this sweet welcome baby card.

Have you been in the situation where you have ready some pretty girl papers (or boy) for the mother to be who has found out early the sex of her child?  Well that was me until my friend who was due to have number 4 girl actually turned out to be welcoming a little boy into their family!  Given I ADORED the Bella Fundamentals Little girl collection I decided to get creative with it seeing I could see some sweet elements that could easily be used on a little boy card.

I started out with the Baby Girl 'Montage'paper and while it looks VERY pink, I utilised panels that would work for my card.  Sometimes looking more closely at your papers will help you create something very different!

Here is my sweet card I created.

 Products Used:
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme papers - Baby Girl
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme Baby Girl Die cuts
Bella Fundamentals Droplets Metallic

Other products:
White Cardstock
Tinby Designs Color Crush Watercolor powder

Here are some more pics so you can get up close to my project today :)

How cute are these die cuts!
I love how striking the chalkboard paper is against the soft tones of the other papers.  I added some gesso to prime the papers a little and then some watercolours to add a little more blue and yellow into the card.

I hope you enjoyed my share today!
Happy Crafting!

Sweet Memories of Mom

by Teresa Horner | April 16, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans... it's a beautiful day and time for another share from me for Lovin Layouts. This month we are sharing ideas for Mother's Day, spring and easter so i had a great picture of my sister and her kids so i used that to make her something for a frame to put up on her wall.
For my page i tried to make something to use alot of the bits and pieces of my Ruby Rock-it stash of goodies.  So many of us have so many odds and ends and if you lay it out and put together- all the things that work you can really make up something nice to give or put up in your home.
To make my page i started with a piece of black card stock for the base of my page and then cut a smaller piece of the wood pattern to go over it.  Then over that i added some of the new corragated cardboard in black just to give it a little more texture.  I cut simple squares of each piece so that i could add more fun pieces and shapes over the top of it.
And if you have word stickers you can always add other things to it to make your title.  Here i used the memories 3D embellishment and then added some of these cute wood veneer letters to say "Sweet Memories of my Mom"  You could use the adhesive letters that we have too.  They come in lots of colors to mix and match.  And you can paint or chalk over them like I did with the arrows to make them match.  It's really fun and you can be really creative this way with what you have in your stash.
And lastly i used some of the flowers in white, black and blue grey to mix in and also cut a few from the paper and used the epoxy dots for the centers.  The captured sticker is from the Sentiment sticker set and i put another one up in the corner.  These are great little stickers to use for words and even for cards.
And that's my Lovin Layouts share for today and i hope you got inspired to use a few things that we have to create your own pages for family and friends.  Have fun and enjoy your day!!

In Honor of Mother's day

by Beckie Dreyer | April 12, 2016
In Honor of Mother's day
Spring is filling the air once again and with that in the UK means that we have a very special day come up in the next few days.
This week I am here to share with you a layout using the new Faded Empire to celebrate this wonderful day .....
Mother' Day
Products Used
The muted tones of the Faded Empire are so soft looking and the floral designs are fabulous for your mother and daughter pictures.
I 'fussy' cut around the lady on one of the pages and added it to another sheet.  I then used it as a background for the photo and embellishments.
The large gold letters in the range mix perfectly with the mini gold alphabet.  You can just about see one of the stamps I have used to accent the page near the corner of the photo.
There are so many beautiful 3D die cuts and wood veneer embellishments to adorn your crafty creations that I am sure you are going to LOVE the whole range.  It also coordinates beautifully with the iWood range.
I hope you have some beautiful pictures of a beautiful mother that you can find to scrap book with
Have a wonderful day!

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Good day. Spring & sunshine brings so many fond memories, & this has inspired me to create a layout which I'm sharing with you today.

IMG_8845 - CopyChristine Santos

I went for a layered but clean look, & it's inspired by Christine Meyer's lovely sketch for My Creative Sketches as pictured below: Sketch for MCS1

But wait, this is more than just a single layout. Remember how I mentioned that I'll make it a point to create more layouts with multi photos? This is my second Ruby Rock-It/Bella multi photo layout for this year, & I'm pleased with how it turned out. IMG_8845Christine Santos

I've used Ruby Rock-It's fun & cheerful Happy Days collection. I love the colors & prints of the papers & they're perfect for scrapping spring & summer photos. IMG_8848Christine Santos

You're spoilt with lots of pretty foiled pieces from the Die Cut Pack, & more adorable glittered pieces from the 3D Sticker Sheet. IMG_8849Christine Santos

All photos are backed with Bella & Ruby Rock-It's awesome Corrugated Cardboard specialty papers. IMG_8852Christine Santos

I've also added a couple of lovely Chipboard Buttons from Bella's Bolt collection. IMG_8854Christine Santos

There's heaps of words & sentiments that you can cut out from this collection...very handy for scrapping indeed. Here's the Ruby Rock-It/Bella product recap: Happy Days Collection Corrugated Cardboard Specialty Papers Bolt Chipboard Buttons I hope you enjoyed my post today. Sweet Lantern Light

by Beckie Dreyer | April 2, 2016
Sweet Lantern Light
I am so loving that the clocks have gone forward and that the evenings are drawing out meaning more time for chilling outside.
Today I have a little lantern to share with you which I made with the Faded Empire and iWood collections to help shed a little light on my outside table.
Product Used
Fundamental Flowers
WoW Embossing Powders
First of all I create a rectangle shape in the iWood papers before cutting out some apertures.  I wanted to have a frosted effect on the 'glass' so I used some tracing paper.
Using the Faded Empire stamps, Versa mark ink and WoW white embossing powder I created a border along the top edge.
I then used the keyhole stamp and add this to the centre, but instead of the white embossing powder I used a clear one so that it looked like a watermark.  I then added them to the sections on the inside of the panels.

I assembled the lantern together and then decorated the base with some different flowers cut out from the Faded Empire papers mixing and matching the colour scheme.

I love the mellow lighting it gives off and think I'll be making some more to add all around outside .... as long as the rain holds off!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

This sweet girl

by Alicia Barry | March 29, 2016
This sweet girl
This month at Ruby Rock-It, we are featuring the most beautiful new collection called Faded Empire.    I have used a combination of papers and die cuts from the collection along with bling trim and florals. The background paper is very pretty and detailed, so I wanted that to be the focus of the layout rather than adding too much over the top.
Some delicate die cut leaves added some extra foliage without detracting too much from the rest of the design.
The blog trim beaded in beautifully with the background, while adding just the right amount of sparkle.
