For the love of Valentines

For the love of Valentines

Hey Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here to share a few Valentine projects that I made up to send to my family and friends to let them know how special they are this time of year.  Working at the Scrapbook store I heard so many of our guests say they didn't have Valentines but that shouldn't stop you from making something nice for coworkers or friends to say that you care... so with that in mind let's get started.  Oh and i got a little carried away with creating so grab a cup and relax....

First up is a page that i made to put in a frame for a wedding that is coming up this March.  They are two of the most amazing people and i wanted to make something special for them to put up in their new apartment.  I used the "Happy Days" Collection because all the little hearts in it really said LOVE to me.  And the rest just followed.
I used the "Hoot", "Bouquet" and "Captured Moments" to make the layered base for my page and then i added the "3D Stickers", the "Die Cuts" and a few of the "Droplets" to finish it.  It was super fun to make all the little groupings around the photo to make it really pretty for them.
Here you can see all the pretty colors in the papers and the designs.  It's such a cute line and there are so many things that you can make with it.  So that is why i also did lots of cards to give with the leftovers that i had in the collection....
With the extra pieces in the set i cut apart the little 4x4 pieces in the "Patchwork" paper and made these cute little cards.  They are just nice sweet sentiments so they are Valentine inspired but don't have to give to someone that you are in love with exactly.  Just someone that you care about or are thinking of would still be fun to do and maybe give a special something you baked.
This one is my favorite.  I love the sentiment so i used the watering can and made that cute little sun behind it with a yellow circle and cut little triangles for the rays with the yellow printed paper. Adding the white matting helped to tie it all together and really made it pop.  How cute right?

This one went together really quick.  Both of the aqua pieces are part of the Patchwork paper and the tiny little hello is from the "Chit Chat" paper.  There is a ton of cute sayings on it and you could use it for so much.

And this one i made with one of the cute sayings matted in the center and popped up and the papers are also from the Patchwork paper.  The prints really go great together and it's printed on both sides so you have that many more ways to use it.

This one i made with the wood grain paper for the base and added some of the banner die cuts and the cute little birds. It's really bright and cute and super easy to make.
And my last card i fussy cut one of the bottles on the paper and layered on the heart and the bouquet of flowers from the 3D embellishments.  Then i cut a strip of the blue stripe to go behind it with some doilies that i cut from a die cut i had in my stash.  The sentiment is from the paper and it can go to someone that you want to say Thank you for just having a fun day with.  It's fun to send cards to people and I think we need to send more just to make the world a nicer place!!  So have fun creating and i hope i gave you a few ideas to inspire you to make something for someone you care about this holiday... and don't forget to get your kids involved.  It's always fun to do things as a family :)

Pretty Little Things with Faded Empire

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

I've had a delightful start this month playing with the gorgeous new Bella collections, & today I get to share with you a frame I made which features 2 of the new ranges: iWood & Faded Empire. Faded Empire FrameChristine Santos

How pretty is the colorful wood pattern at the base of the frame? This is just one of the many awesome designs from the iWood collection. IMG_8061Christine Santos

I've cut out the lady, border of flowers, & a couple of butterflies from lush Faded Empire papers. As you can see the backdrop is from the same collection as well. Every single paper is filled with texture & you'll find it hard which side of each paper to use! IMG_8064Christine Santos

The foiled chipboard alphas (from Faded Empire collection, of course) are delish & gave the right amount of shine to this frame. I've die cut the rest of the alphas with Bella's awesome Turquoise Corrugated Cardboard. It looks wonderful against the rich color of the Faded Empire papers. IMG_8071Christine Santos

The cluster is made up of Bella Florals, Faded Empire Wood Veneers & Die Cuts. This is the perfect Bella collection to go floral all the way.

Did I mention how pretty the Faded Empire stamps are as well? In this frame it gave a little extra definition at the edges. Here's a recap of the Bella products: Faded Empire Collection (Papers; Alpha Chipboard; Wood Veneers; Die Cuts; Stamps) iWood Collection Bella Florals I hope you enjoyed my post today. Lovin Layouts | I am loved

Have you seen our new winter release, Bolt?  It's filled with gorgeous patterns, some vintage sewing ephemera, and has a lovely soft color palette!  My new favorite, instantly!

For the layout, I chose one of the beautiful papers from our iWood collection for the foundation.

Next, I matted my photo with one of the Bolt papers.  Inspired by the patterns in the papers, I allowed that to be my guide for the page, and had alot of fun!

I added in little vingettes combined with doilies, diecuts, papers, and some of our droplets!

Are those gold chipboard alphas just gorgeous or what?  LOVE these!  These are from our Faded Empire range.

Our clear stamps are darling, those are some of them to the right...those sweet buttons!

Supply List:

Bolt papers

Bolt wood veneers

Bolt droplets

Bolt diecuts

Bolt clear stamps

Faded Empire chipboard letters

Thank you for stopping by and making Ruby Rock-It a part of your creative day!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend ahead!

A Mother's Love

by Beckie Dreyer | February 4, 2016
A Mother's Love
Spring is filling the air once again and with that in the UK means that we have a very special day come up in the next few days.
This week I am here to share with you a layout using the new Faded Empire to celebrate this wonderful day .....
Mother' Day
Products Used
The muted tones of the Faded Empire are so soft looking and the floral designs are fabulous for your mother and daughter pictures.
I 'fussy' cut around the lady on one of the pages and added it to another sheet.  I then used it as a background for the photo and embellishments.
The large gold letters in the range mix perfectly with the mini gold alphabet.  You can just about see one of the stamps I have used to accent the page near the corner of the photo.
There are so many beautiful 3D die cuts and wood veneer embellishments to adorn your crafty creations that I am sure you are going to LOVE the whole range.  It also coordinates beautifully with the iWood range.
I hope you have some beautiful pictures of a beautiful mother that you can find to scrap book with
Have a wonderful day

Crazy in love with Bolt

Crazy in love with Bolt
Are you ready Ruby Rock-it Fans to see some more of the brand new product in use?!
This month the team will be sharing our work with Bolt and Iwood.
The Bolt collection has a sewing theme to them along with a range of fun patterns where as the iwood is just as it says .. amazing wood designs on the papers ,,, Delish!
I used mainly the patterns from the Bolt papers here to create this Crazy Love layout but some of the iwood papers crept in!
Products Used
The background is made up of strips of the Bolt paper and I used a some of the iwood too which went perfectly.  I also used some of the pink hearts and stripes paper to add a line of little hearts.
I used the die cut buttons to accent the side of the circle frame along with some of the epoxy stickers.
I cut the little ticket from the Bolt papers and added the 'Crazy Love' with the wood veneer alphabet.  The floral bling added a bit of sparkle to the page.  I could resist using the corrugated paper to the mat the photo on!!
This has to be my favourite saying in this range  .... you do have to get out there and create your own happiness!  This is pretty much what we were doing in this photo on the layout, just goofing around and having a laugh
I used the stitching stamp along the edge of the paper as I loved the effect it gave.
Are you tempted to get to your local Ruby Rock-it stockist and get some Bolt and iwood?
We sure hope so!
Have fun

Off The Page project | New Winter Release | Bolt

by Alicia Barry | January 28, 2016
Off The Page project | New Winter Release | Bolt
Today I am excited to share wth you not just a brand new project, but a brand new collection from Ruby Rock-It. This collection is called Bolt. This sewing themed collection has a beautiful colour theme and wonderful patterns with great vintage sewing images. It also has some great opportunities for fussy cutting.

Once again, the collection includes stamps, die cuts, droplets, chipboard buttons, and wood veneers for perfect co-ordinated projects.
For my first project, I started with a simple little wooden box that I found at Target. It already happened to have a white base, so I did't even need to gesso it first.

Once I covered each of the sides with background paper, I used fussy cut florals as my base for a cluster on the top of the box and one on the front. I combined die cuts and florals to embellish. Once I was done, I sprayed the whole box lightly with iridescent spray. This made the whole box sparkle, but also it added some moisture to the paper flowers so that I could wrinkle the petals and make them sit up with even more dimension.

Creative Cards with Fundamentals

by Teresa Horner | January 26, 2016
Creative Cards with Fundamentals

Hey Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here with some ideas to make a fun card and some mini cards using some of our Fundamental stamps and the stickers and letters that go with it.  If you don't know already these are the cutest stamps and the most perfect letter sets to use for pretty much anything in your crafty world. They come in lots of colors and the stamps are super cute too.

My first card i did using the black cardstock for a base and layered it with some of the yellow papers in the "Get Hitched" paper pack.  I also used some of the lazer cut letters from the
"Sentiments wood veneer" pack.  And i also thought it would be fun to mix in some of the mini adhesive "alphabet letters in gold" and a few stars from the "Stars and Hearts" wood veneer set.  It went together really easy and it's neat because all of the products mix and match so well.

And for my mini cards i thought it would be fun to make up some to have for little gift bags that i need throughout the year so i used the stamps, the adhesive sentimenst and some bright inks i had in my stash.  I embossed the little cards to give them a window to stamp in and then just played and had fun.  You can layer the stamps with different colors to make them bright and cheerful to give.

Here is a photo of what the stamps look like.  There are lots of sets that you can see here for all different occasions.  And the size is perfect to use for lots of fun projects that you might have.
And here is a quick look at the "Adhesive sentiments" and "alphabets stickers".  There are lots of these available in fun colors to use too.

And lastly i made up a few with another set of our mini paper packs and the Veneer sentiments and hearts.  I hope you have a chance to stop over and see all the neat things from our "Fundamentals lines" and have fun making some projects of your own... Have a fun and crafty day!!
