For you, Mom!

by Beckie Dreyer | May 3, 2016
For you, Mom!
Today  I am here to share some inspiration for Mother's day.  I have used one of my favourite collections, Happy Days, to create the cards.   I just love the fresh fun colours and designs of this collection.
This is a simple card to make and is a stepper version.  Cutting out the family of owls I added them along the fold of the card to give it a look as if they are perched on the edge of a tree.

This next card is made using all the little left over pieces that I have saved from other projects.  There was a lot of fussy cutting in this one but I really enjoyed creating this card.

Finally this card uses a die cut butterfly and a greeting cut from the 'Happy Days' paper.  A few left over strips of paper adds some colour to the back of the card.

Grateful for you, Mom

Grateful for you, Mom
It's almost Mother's Day so I have created some cards for the occasion, using a combination of Faded Empire and Bolt paper collections. The fussy cut flowers are form one and the background is from the other, but they work real nicely together.

I combines los of layers on this one with fussy cut flowers, Bella! florals and some veneer letters. In fact this card was mostly created with scraps left over form other projects.

Simple Beauty

Simple Beauty

This month, we are celebrating all things spring. We moved to our current house 6 months ago in the middle of the Californian drought, and our yard was less that inspirational. It was little more than dirt and dust. With a bit of luck, we have had some rain, and we have been surprised with two amazing rose bushes, that over the last two weeks, have given us dozens of the biggest and prettiest roses we've ever seen. Even the grass is green again.  This layout shows just a tiny snippet of what is blooming.

I used a background sheet from the wood collection, and teamed it with some Faded Empire papers and embellishments.

Sweet sentiments for Mom

by Teresa Horner | April 26, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here today and i am sharing lots of cards that i did for Mother's day coming up next month.  I used lots of papers from all the lines for this post so grab a cup of something and enjoy!

My first card is my favorite and i layered lots of gorgeous papers to do it.  The first layer is RR newest Foiled Hearts and Stripes paper.  I used the silver one on it and also the yellow hearts from one of the other sides.  And the yellows went perfectly with the Getting Hitched line of papers.  The beautiful yellow, white and silver combinations was perfect.  And to make the title i used some of the tiny words in our silver glitter letters and the tiny alpha words.  Love, love, love this one....

The wooden die cut is one i got from the local hobby store and chalked it white but you could use a die or anything decorative to make the design the way you wanted to on the cards you make.

I really love this one too.  We have a beautiful pink papers called and it went great with the little pink dots that i wanted to use. To start it I cut pieces for the backround first and glued them all down on a burgundy card stock that matched it.  I also had a little die that i cut out the birdcage and then layered lots of pretty flowers in pink and white to create the cluster that you see.  The green leaves i also cut from a die and filled in the spaces to make it look nice and full.  And lastly i added the little words that i did on the computer.  You could do anything this way and that way your card would say exactly what you needed it to for that special mom or aunt or someone in your life.
This one i also used papers from the Getting Hitched line and the Gold Foiled Stripes and Hearts papers.  I wanted something very fancy and bright to maybe give money or a gift card in so this is what i came up with.  It looks very classy and the Bella Bling Flower was the perfect touch on the top for it.

The next 2 cards i did with the new "Faded Empire" collection of papers.  For the top one i layered on a piece of the printed pink paper onto a kraft card and then i used one of the pretty tags that come already done and just cut it out and matted it to put on the top.  It's a gorgeous design and sometimes you want to say something special and i think this would do quit well for that.

This one i had lots of fun with and decided to go with making an easel card.  The top is also one of the cards from the papers and i cut that out and layered it on beautiful printed papers in pinks and burgundy and only had to add a pretty ribbon and the rose die cut piece from the set to finish it.
And my last card I used the Blossom Pink Foiled Stripe and added white cardstock and the pretty Bella Pink Bling flower to make it really shine.  This one i had to cut off the ends to make it fit but
it's a good thing to remember so that you can use some of your stash in other ways.  The stamp in the center is from our Wedding Clear Stamp set and it fit perfect inside the circle and was the best sentiment i could think of to give to your mum!
Thanks so much for stopping over for a little Mother's Day inspiration and i
hope that you make your mum something really nice to make her feel special this year!

As you can see a feminine card is not complete without the addition of Bella Bling & Trim. The circle sentiment is from a Fundamentals Clear Sticker Sheet, which is very handy for card making. Sweet Greetings From the Heart

by Erin Yamabe | April 21, 2016
Sweet Greetings From the Heart

There's nothing sweeter than giving a handmade card from the heart to a dear friend or loved one.  It's one of my favorite things to create, and I love that my girls appreciate the craft and sentiment also!

For this first card, I've combined our Hearts and Stripes and IWood papers together.  This is the blue from the hearts and stripes.  It's become one of my favorites, and is so very versatile.

I cut 4 2x2 squares of the IWood paper, and rounded the corners of two of the edges on each square.

They are adhered in a square, leaving a little space in between, for the droplets to be showcased!  A Bella! floral in blue for the center, and our Fundamentals alpha stickers complete this sweet greet!

For the second card, the Bolt and Hearts and stripes papers are combined.  I let the pattern in this beautiful Bolt paper be the design of the card base.  And I rounded the corners on two of the edges.

I love the contrast of our hearts and stripes paper with the foil, and added that down the center.

As you know, I love layers!  I chose two of the circles from one of the Bolt papers to be the foundation for the circles, and then distressed the edges.  And the inner circles also have the distressed edges.  Our droplets are a perfect accent for the centers!

It's also paired with one of our gorgeous Bella! florals!

And our Fundamentals Alpha stickers complete this next sweet greet!

Supply List:

Bolt papers

IWood papers

Hearts and stripes papers

Droplets

Fundamentals Alpha stickers

Thank you for stopping by and making Ruby Rock-It a part of your creative day!

Sweet baby love | Mini Ranges

Sweet baby love | Mini Ranges

Hi Everyone, Beck Beattie today with my 'Creative Cards' share.  Today I wanted to share with you how I flipped the theme of the papers I used a little to create this sweet welcome baby card.

Have you been in the situation where you have ready some pretty girl papers (or boy) for the mother to be who has found out early the sex of her child?  Well that was me until my friend who was due to have number 4 girl actually turned out to be welcoming a little boy into their family!  Given I ADORED the Bella Fundamentals Little girl collection I decided to get creative with it seeing I could see some sweet elements that could easily be used on a little boy card.

I started out with the Baby Girl 'Montage'paper and while it looks VERY pink, I utilised panels that would work for my card.  Sometimes looking more closely at your papers will help you create something very different!

Here is my sweet card I created.

 Products Used:

Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme papers - Baby Girl
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme Baby Girl Die cuts
Bella Fundamentals Droplets Metallic

Other products:
White Cardstock
Tinby Designs Color Crush Watercolor powder

Here are some more pics so you can get up close to my project today :)

How cute are these die cuts!
I love how striking the chalkboard paper is against the soft tones of the other papers.  I added some gesso to prime the papers a little and then some watercolours to add a little more blue and yellow into the card.

I hope you enjoyed my share today!

Happy Crafting!

xxxBeck

Sweet Memories of Mom

by Teresa Horner | April 16, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans... it's a beautiful day and time for another share from me for Lovin Layouts. This month we are sharing ideas for Mother's Day, spring and easter so i had a great picture of my sister and her kids so i used that to make her something for a frame to put up on her wall.
For my page i tried to make something to use alot of the bits and pieces of my Ruby Rock-it stash of goodies.  So many of us have so many odds and ends and if you lay it out and put together- all the things that work you can really make up something nice to give or put up in your home.
To make my page i started with a piece of black card stock for the base of my page and then cut a smaller piece of the wood pattern to go over it.  Then over that i added some of the new corragated cardboard in black just to give it a little more texture.  I cut simple squares of each piece so that i could add more fun pieces and shapes over the top of it.

And if you have word stickers you can always add other things to it to make your title.  Here i used the memories 3D embellishment and then added some of these cute wood veneer letters to say "Sweet Memories of my Mom"  You could use the adhesive letters that we have too.  They come in lots of colors to mix and match.  And you can paint or chalk over them like I did with the arrows to make them match.  It's really fun and you can be really creative this way with what you have in your stash.
And lastly i used some of the flowers in white, black and blue grey to mix in and also cut a few from the paper and used the epoxy dots for the centers.  The captured sticker is from the Sentiment sticker set and i put another one up in the corner.  These are great little stickers to use for words and even for cards.
And that's my Lovin Layouts share for today and i hope you got inspired to use a few things that we have to create your own pages for family and friends.  Have fun and enjoy your day!!

In Honor of Mother's day

by Beckie Dreyer | April 12, 2016
In Honor of Mother's day
Spring is filling the air once again and with that in the UK means that we have a very special day come up in the next few days.
This week I am here to share with you a layout using the new Faded Empire to celebrate this wonderful day .....
Mother' Day
Products Used
The muted tones of the Faded Empire are so soft looking and the floral designs are fabulous for your mother and daughter pictures.
I 'fussy' cut around the lady on one of the pages and added it to another sheet.  I then used it as a background for the photo and embellishments.
The large gold letters in the range mix perfectly with the mini gold alphabet.  You can just about see one of the stamps I have used to accent the page near the corner of the photo.
There are so many beautiful 3D die cuts and wood veneer embellishments to adorn your crafty creations that I am sure you are going to LOVE the whole range.  It also coordinates beautifully with the iWood range.
I hope you have some beautiful pictures of a beautiful mother that you can find to scrap book with
Have a wonderful day!
