Let's Get Organized!

Let's Get Organized!
For my first project of the month, I have been asked to create something with a New Year theme. We didn't have any big plans for New Year, so I decided to take a different path. Many people make New year resolutions... I am not one of them, but I like to start a New Year trying to be a bit more organised.
I have just been out a paper calendar month by month, but really...a crafter should be able to do a bit better than that, so I have created this. I started with a glass frame. I used pretty paper with a generic calendar on the inside of the frame. I used letter stickers for the days. The rest of the embellishments have been added to the outside of the frame so that I could make it a bit more dimensional.

I added the numbers using a white board marker, and will re-do those each month. The month is mounted on foam dots and can be updated each month too.

Happy New Year! | Welcome to 2016

Happy New Year! | Welcome to 2016

Are you like me at the beginning of a new year, promise that this year you are going to be more organised??
Well this year I thought I would make a start and decided to make a birthday book to store all my cards in.
Products Used :
RRBF Flowers
I made the book by using some paper food bags.  I trimmed down the bag to the size I wanted and then decorated the outside of each one.  Once bundled together the inside of the bag will be a pocket for birthday cards that I have made for each person whose birthday is in that month.
I also added a calendar to the front so that you can add names into each date.
The Year in Review collection has a ready made calendar sticker set in which made adding the months to each of the pockets.
Can you spot the mistake??  Really need to redo it!!
I hope I have inspired you to start on the new you!!  I'm hoping to keep this filled and cards posted on time .... well I am going to try!
Thanks for stopping by,
Happy New Year!!

Thank you | Christmas

Thank you | Christmas

Today I have a holiday Thank you card to share.  We have been in our new home for a few months now and have gradually met most of our neighbours in passing. The other night a lovely lady from across the road knocked on our day with these beautiful poinsettias in hand, so I have made this Thanks you card for her.

I wanted it to look festive without being over the top Christmasy since the big day has now passed. I have used some silver cardstock from the Fundamentals range and paired it with some Dancette paper and some stars cut from Kraftastic. I used some Spellbinder dies to add a little extra decoration.

Merry Christmas! | Season's Greetings

by Teresa Horner | December 26, 2015

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you from all of us on the Ruby Rock-It Creative team. It's a glorious day and we hope that all of you are having fun celebrating with friends and family.

Today i am sharing a quick festive card i made for the holidays to share with all of you. I used a blue, grey and white theme for my card and the greeting on the front is cut with a sentiment die from Quietfire Designs.  It's fun to create thin layers with vellum and you can use die cuts to give it even more detail like i did with the one that looks like a doily.

I really love the greeting and the glitter paper that we carry cuts like butter with the dies and looks really pretty on our hearts and stripes paper in silver.

Here is a list of products I used to make it:

Wedding Something Blue Mini pack

Ruby Rock-it clear vellum

Hearts and Stripes paper in silver

Silver Cards

Other: Adhesive, corner punch, scissors, paper dies, and a paper trimmer.

Thank you so much for dropping by and have a very happy and wonderful day!

Holiday Traditions

by Shannon Morgan | December 22, 2015

Traditions begin with people and an idea.

They are handed down from generation to generation in hopes that they will continue. Patrick and Mackenzie created a tradition for our family, anyone who follows me on social media knows of this tradition...we begin excitedly  chatting about it the day after Halloween...and our love of The Great Pumpkin instantly transitions into Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Dinner. We, as a family eagerly await the day before Thanksgiving..we celebrate by watching Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts cast while eating right along: popcorn, jelly beans, toast, pretzels and an ice cream sundae of course!

This year was an extra special one, we expanded our tradition by inviting our "family" - some of our family is not related by blood, though they may as well be because they are there through every triumph and each tragedy.

I created a layout using a Becky Fleck sketch and Ruby Rock-It products!

Thank you for checking in!

Christmas | Layout love with Beckie
Hello everyone, this month we have teamed up with Pagemaps and I thought I would share with you the layout I created with one of the sketches that were sent to me.
Product Used :
I choose a Christmas theme for my layout.  I loved the way the sketch has brought everything together in the centre.
I love the Heritage papers from Ruby Rock-it and love that they can be used for Christmas projects.  The glittery alphabets bring a festive feel to the layout.
The beautiful wood veneer adds texture and i just loved using the foiled hearts and stripes papers too on the layout.
Becky produces amazing sketches which are just so easy to follow and allow so much creativity.  Here is the sketch so you can join in too if you'd like
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you are getting on well in your preparations for Christmas.

Christmas | Layout love with Beck

Christmas | Layout love with Beck
Hi Everyone its Beck BT here and I'm getting in early with my 2015 Christmas scrapbooking.  I have created this scrapbook page ready for the perfect family photos to be taken on Christmas day this year.

I had fun creating this page with the divine papers from the collection teamed up with matching die cuts and 3D stickers.  To add a little more Christmas theme to the page I die cut the poinsettia flowers with the Spellbinders layered poinsettia die set.  I also used the negative of the die cut to stencil more of the design into the background with some texture paste and glitter added over the top.
To add my photos in later I have left an opening on each frame that I can slip the photos in once they have been taken.
Here are some pictures showing the openings as well as some details of the page.

Products Used:
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme Paperz - Boy
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme Paperz - Girl
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme - Memories die cuts
Bella Fundamentals Mini Theme - Family 3D Sticker
Bella Fundamentals FUN22 Alpha Set
I hope you enjoyed my share today!
Happy Crafting!

Christmas layout with Alicia

Christmas layout with Alicia
Today I have used a combination of the Hearts and Strips range and the Dancette collection to create a festive layout.
By using the back side of the Hearts and stripes paper I created a more muted background, so that the glitter of the Dancette would stand out, rather than over power the layout. This also meant that the glitter letters I used from the  Happy Days collection would also be a focus point, not a distraction.
I coated the background cardstock in gesso, and sprinkled with superfine glitter first. I used a heat tool to set the background, making sure that I used extra heat on the thick parts. This made it bubble up which added nice texture to the background, again without adding extra clutter.
I added twine and dimensional paint dots to glitter circles to create simple ornaments.
