Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Good day. Spring & sunshine brings so many fond memories, & this has inspired me to create a layout which I'm sharing with you today.

IMG_8845 - CopyChristine Santos

I went for a layered but clean look, & it's inspired by Christine Meyer's lovely sketch for My Creative Sketches as pictured below: Sketch for MCS1

But wait, this is more than just a single layout. Remember how I mentioned that I'll make it a point to create more layouts with multi photos? This is my second Ruby Rock-It/Bella multi photo layout for this year, & I'm pleased with how it turned out. IMG_8845Christine Santos

I've used Ruby Rock-It's fun & cheerful Happy Days collection. I love the colors & prints of the papers & they're perfect for scrapping spring & summer photos. IMG_8848Christine Santos

You're spoilt with lots of pretty foiled pieces from the Die Cut Pack, & more adorable glittered pieces from the 3D Sticker Sheet. IMG_8849Christine Santos

All photos are backed with Bella & Ruby Rock-It's awesome Corrugated Cardboard specialty papers. IMG_8852Christine Santos

I've also added a couple of lovely Chipboard Buttons from Bella's Bolt collection. IMG_8854Christine Santos

There's heaps of words & sentiments that you can cut out from this collection...very handy for scrapping indeed. Here's the Ruby Rock-It/Bella product recap: Happy Days Collection Corrugated Cardboard Specialty Papers Bolt Chipboard Buttons I hope you enjoyed my post today. Thanks for dropping by & don't forget to check out the Happy Days collection here. Cheers, key

Growth | Create your own happiness

by Erin Yamabe | April 7, 2016

Hope you are enjoying the team's creations this month!  This week, we are creating anything we wish...and for this project, I was in the mood for a layout of our youngest girl.  This is one of my very favorite photos of her...at such a tender age of 4.

The Bolt range and our beautiful corrugated cardstock were just perfect!  I fussy cut those cute rulers out and created some banners from those pieces, as a background, to add on top of some paint.

And our beautiful Bella! bling are such a sweet accent for any project!  Love the mix of lace, bling, paper and paint!

And I love when the titles can be simply found among embellishments...so perfect!

Supply List:

Bolt papers

Bolt wood veneers

Bolt diecuts

Bella! florals

Corrugated cardstock

Sweet Lantern Light

by Beckie Dreyer | April 2, 2016
Sweet Lantern Light
I am so loving that the clocks have gone forward and that the evenings are drawing out meaning more time for chilling outside.
Today I have a little lantern to share with you which I made with the Faded Empire and iWood collections to help shed a little light on my outside table.
Product Used
Fundamental Flowers
WoW Embossing Powders
First of all I create a rectangle shape in the iWood papers before cutting out some apertures.  I wanted to have a frosted effect on the 'glass' so I used some tracing paper.
Using the Faded Empire stamps, Versa mark ink and WoW white embossing powder I created a border along the top edge.
I then used the keyhole stamp and add this to the centre, but instead of the white embossing powder I used a clear one so that it looked like a watermark.  I then added them to the sections on the inside of the panels.

I assembled the lantern together and then decorated the base with some different flowers cut out from the Faded Empire papers mixing and matching the colour scheme.

I love the mellow lighting it gives off and think I'll be making some more to add all around outside .... as long as the rain holds off!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

This sweet girl

by Alicia Barry | March 29, 2016
This sweet girl
This month at Ruby Rock-It, we are featuring the most beautiful new collection called Faded Empire.    I have used a combination of papers and die cuts from the collection along with bling trim and florals. The background paper is very pretty and detailed, so I wanted that to be the focus of the layout rather than adding too much over the top.
Some delicate die cut leaves added some extra foliage without detracting too much from the rest of the design.
The blog trim beaded in beautifully with the background, while adding just the right amount of sparkle.

Time for Tea

by Teresa Horner | March 26, 2016

Hey Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa here on this Fabulous Friday with a fun share using the brand new "Faded Empire" Paper Collection.  I had so many ideas for this collection but the one thing that really caught my eye was all the gorgeous roses and the colors so i decided to make up some special gift bags for hosting a tea and a few other goodies to decorate and give out for my guests.

By far one of my most favorite things to do in life is going to tea.  I love the biscuits, the lovely little sandwiches and all the other special yummy things you get when you go.  So with my mind spinning with all the ideas -- i got to work to create a few boxes and bags to have my own tea or maybe even give a few as lovely gifts for Mother's Day.

For the top acetate gift box i thought it would be fun to make a cute cover for it.  I used a die to cut the gorgeous papers and layer them over a belly band i put all around the box.  Then i added a few of the die cuts and some beautiful ribbon.  And of course it needed a few jewels so i added rhinestones and the droplets to give it a little more shine.  I really love how this one came out with the crown.

And below that is a pretty placecard that i did up quick if you decide to have your own tea.  It's super easy with the dies and the droplets look quite nice on it.  All you do is print up their names with a beautiful calligraphy pen or do them on the computer and print them out.

And this Tea giftcard was really fun to make.  I love using things in a different way and originally this middle piece on the tag had a heart on it but i found the clock covered it perfectly and then i added one of the lazer cut wooden keys and a bow.  Inside i put "It's time for Tea" with a small pocket i did with paper and then i can add a few tea bags or maybe even a Tea Gift card.  If you ever find the paper needs to pop a little more be sure and add some chalk ink around the edges.
It really makes it look nice.

And i just kept going as you can see.  There is so many beautiful patterns so i also made this pretty heart box by covering the sides and top with paper and then adding a bit of lace and bling to it.
The tag on the bottom left comes in the die cuts so all i had to do for that is add ribbon.  So easy!
And lastly who wouldn't want to have matching coasters for your tea cups?  These were so easy to die cut with some dies from my stash and now everyone can have a lovely tea and chat the afternoon away.  Couldn't think of a more fun way to spend the afternoon!
Thanks so much for stopping over to see what's new on the Ruby Rock-it blog and i hope that you all have a really wonderful day .....

Be your own kind of beautiful

by Christine Santos | March 24, 2016

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Hi there. Today I get to share with you my second Faded Empire creation which is a reverse canvas: Be. CanvasChristine Santos

For the background I added the lovely iWood paper. It matches the colors of the Faded Empire collection. IMG_8561Christine Santos

The best part about Spring are the blossoming flowers, & this is the inspiration of the canvas. The flower cluster here are made up of Bella florals & pressed flowers from our garden. Flowers were left in the press for at least 3 months & then sprayed with a fixative.

IMG_8566Christine Santos

One of my favourite papers from the collection is the Black Corrugated specialty paper. Behind it is the Blue Glittered Dancette. IMG_8565Christine Santos

Faded Empire comes with pretty Droplets to match the lovely shades of the collection. The gold foiled Chipboard Alphas come from the same collection too. IMG_8568Christine Santos

On top of the canvas is a pretty strip of Bella fabric & bling. IMG_8562Christine Santos

Flowers can be added/changed in the little jar on this canvas. Here's the Bella/Ruby Rock-It product recap: Faded Empire Papers, Chipboard Alphas & Droplets; iWood Paper; Bella Florals; Bella Bling with Fabric Trim; Glittered Dancette. I hope you enjoyed my post today, & check out the Faded Empire collection hereCheers, key

From the heart | Faded Empire

by Erin Yamabe | March 22, 2016

Hello Ruby Rock-It Fans!  Erin here today with you, to kick off a week with some lovely Off the page projects from our team!

One thing I love collecting, are frames!  Of all shapes and sizes!

I started with choosing one of our 4x6 cards from our papers, to accompany my photo.  Inking the edges adds to the gorgeous vintage feel in this range.  I've added in one of our golden diecut embellishments, alongside some of our pretty droplets!

Next, I created this lovely heart collage here in the right corner.  It's a favorite diecut, this envelope heart from Sizzix.  I've paired the inside with a doily, a rose diecut and one of our florals, inked.  Additionally, I've brought in some twine, and tied in one of our tag embellishments from our diecut pack.

Supply List:

Faded Empire papers

Faded Empire diecut pack

Faded Empire droplets

Thank you for stopping by and making Ruby Rock-It a part of your creative day!

Be back Wednesday with a lovely project from Christine!
