Cheers for Daddy!

by Erin Yamabe | June 14, 2016
Cheers for Daddy!
It is almost Father's Day here in the States, so the Ruby Rock-It team have some ideas to help you celebrate this special day.  I have created this layout using some of the new iwood papers, along with some die cuts, and wood veneers from other collections.

I started off by adding texture and dimension to the iwood background using 3D stamp paint through a stencil, some crackle paint and black glass glitter. I added some tiny chipboard pieces also. I used mesh tape along with more iwood paper for the embellishments.

I used a little bit of scrap paper from the Bolt collection, along with corrugated cardboard. I also used a combination of wood and die cut foil fleur-di-lis, plus some wood cogs.

You Are Simply Amazing, Dad!

by Teresa Horner | June 11, 2016

Hi Ruby Rock it fans and happy Friday to all of you.  It's almost time for Father's day so today i have a few cards that i did up with some scraps that i had just to make it quick and fun.  These are good cards for your kids to make up too and they can personalize them anyway they want to make them even more special.

This was a super easy card that i made using the kraft tastic line of papers.   I mixed it with one
of the sentiment cards and the new corrugated papers in red.   I also added one of the die cut
spaceships from the new boys line.
Here is an up close view of all the pretty colors in this line.  Kraft is one of my favorite things to work with because it can be so versatile and the patterns on this line are really fun to use.
This card i did with the new "Bolt" paper line.  I loved the pretty colors of this one and it was fun to make up my own title using the alphabet stickers in silver to go with it.  I forget about these fun little sets and they really are wonderful to use when you want to say something special and you don't have the right sentiment to do.  Each pack comes with lots of different sized letters to you can create something really nice.
One of my favorite new products by Ruby Rock it is the corrugated papers in colors.  They have kraft, red, pink, black, white and yellow and they go perfect with all the new lines just released this last year.

And this one was fun to make up for a little gift bag.  I used a pre-made kraft bag and then cut out a piece of the new yellow corrugated paper and matted it in white cardstock and then used a tag from the Kraftastic line and added a sentiment word and the Dad letter in gold to match.  The little stars come in the letter set and you even numbers so that is always handy to record those important dates.

Here is a quick view of the alphabet stickers and some of the colors that they come.  They are my favorite go to for pages and lots of other things and there is so many of them in each package.  It's really nice to have lots of these on hand.

And that's all for my share today and i hope i gave you some fun ideas to create a few cards with your kids for their dads this year.  Have a wonderful day!!

Dear, Dad

Dear, Dad

Hello Ruby Rock-It fans! We are having alot of fun here creating some inspiration for you, in honor of all the wonderful and amazing Dad's in our lives!

Here's a few featuring our beautiful iWood range!

The foundation of the card is one of my favorites from the iWood range!  I've layered in some Bolt and Hearts and Stripes papers, and then some more iWood in strips along the bottom!

A simple DAD with our lovely wood veneers was perfect for the sentiment, as it is just that.  Our Dad is full of heart.

The top left is filled with a few stars from our iWood papers, along with some of our fabulous droplets!

This next card makes me smile!  My Dad loves flowers, of all kinds.  So, I layered in some fun shapes from punches of our iWood paper to create this flower card for him!

Our Fundamentals stickers and wood veneers are a perfect way to showcase our sentiment!

Ruby Rock It Inspiration Banner

Father's Day in America is coming up quickly & today I'm sharing with you a Father's Day mixed media card with Bella's awesome iWood collection. 1_iwood

These papers couldn't be more perfect for masculine projects. I paired them up with Ruby Rock-It's Kraft Corrugated Cardboard & this is what I came up with: Dad CardChristine Santos

Here's a recap of the iWood papers I layered on the card: [gallery size="medium" ids="6648,6646,6647"] IMG_9492

I've used the lighter wood print of the Version 8.0 paper as the base of the card, then added some layers of the Kraft Corrugated Cardboard specialty paper. IMG_9493

The next layer on top is the colored wood print of Version 6.0 paper, & on top is the Version 4.0 paper. For the dad word, I've simply traced the Faded Empire Chipboard Alphas on the same Version 4.0 (using the opposite side) paper then cut them out. IMG_9495

To finish the card I've added some inks, mists, stain & other mediums on the different layers & altered chipboard cogs. Thanks for stopping by & do check out the iWood collection hereCheers, key

Father's Day fun!

by Beckie Dreyer | June 2, 2016
Father's Day fun!
Hello!! It's hard to believe that summer is nearly upon us and the weather has finally warmed up!  At this time of year our thoughts always turn to Father's/Dad's/Pop's or what ever these special men in your life may be called.
Today I am here to share with you some inspiration for Father's day with a little gift and card made using the Boy Mini Theme set.
The 'Boy' Mini Theme set has some really cool greeting on the papers and some brilliant little die cuts too.  I saw an opportunity to use some of the iwood papers too to create these masculine gifts.
The iwood paper is used here to create a banner on the back of the card to break up the black card a bit.  There is a piece of the collection which has lovely hues of blue on it as well as the brown colour.
I cut out one of the greetings and then built up around it using the die cuts.
The beer bottle has some of the iwood paper wrapped around the centre and then I used the 'Boy's papers to create a label for the front.  The wood veneer products work fabulously for this.

Hope you have a great time creating for your father's and don't forget to look out for the Bella! Iwood collection at your local craft supplier!

My Happy!

by Alicia Barry | May 28, 2016
My Happy!
I love the bright and happy collection called Happy Days, so when I was assigned a free choice project this month, I jumped at the chance to pull this one out and have a play. I always seem to be short on some general occasion cards when I need them in a pinch, so this range is perfect for just that.

These cards are created mostly with left over pieces from other projects, combined with some die cut frames. I usually use lots of foam dots in between the layers to create dimension.
I used some paint dots on each one to accentuate the embellishments.

Graduation, what a milestone!

by Teresa Horner | May 26, 2016

Hi everyone and I am so happy that you stopped by for a little Ruby Rock-it inspiration today.  It's graduation time so i decided to use some of the gorgeous papers from the "Graduation Day" Mini themed set.  It has lots of beautiful prints with grad hats and  and of course die cuts that go perfectly.

I have a work friend who is graduating this week and i wanted to make something special for her to
remember this amazing accomplishment in her life.  The stickers for this have such great sentiments on each of them and it all went together really easy just layering lots of pieces of the papers behind the photo and then adding some stenciled pin dots on the top and bottom to give it a little more texture and tie it all together nicely.  The little gold stars come in the die cuts so that was a nice little touch since she is going into a television and movie career.

Here is a good closeup of the 3D embellishment.  It's so pretty with the chalkboard and gold mixed together and i added the diploma and a few of the Life Documented stickers around it too.

And here is just another quick closeup of the layering.  Each side of the papers had such pretty prints and they go so great together.  Since there is pink in the picture i added a small piece of the pink stripe and splattered some pink paint to make it go together better.
And i even made a card to go with the framed page for her.  I think the sentiment fit so well with
all the amazing things she wants to do in her life so i just used it with a few bits of the paper matted
with white and black cardstock and added a bow on the side.  It was super easy to make.  I hope that all my projects today gave you a little inspiration to make up a few things of your own for a grad in your life.  Enjoy and have a really great day!
Thanks so much for stopping by and below i put my shopping list to make it easy for you!
Supplies needed:
Black and White Rhinestones
Black and white cardstock
white ribbon
glass bead glitter
pink paint
paper trimmer, adhesive and scissors
