There is nothing more rewarding and liberating than creating something original and from the heart. Art comes in many forms - cooking, baking, writing, photography, beading, papercraft, jewellery making, sewing, knitting, painting. The list goes on.....
Art is one of the best forms of self expression and is the ultimate personal healer during stressful times. Art challenges our brain to produce new thoughts, ideas and imagery. We all have some form of creativity within us. There is no right or wrong way to do anything. If you feel personal satisfaction from what you have created, then that is all that matters.
Our Ruby Rock-it blog is always filled with amazing creations by our Design team and we post these simply to engage and inspire our followers.
Today we step back to April and recap on all the inspiration and imagination shared by our awesome design team. The most obvious and very exciting change this month was the introduction of our first ever Just Bead It Designers to the team - Chez and Melody. These talented ladies do a phenomenal job breathing life into the humble bead, creating breathtaking inspirational jewellery pieces.
If you hadn't already guessed it, the common theme throughout the month was celebrating Mother's Day. To compliment the beautiful jewellery pieces created by Chez and Melody, we were also surprised with adorable cards, minibooks and notepad holders by the Papercraft team.
Here is a cute little gift idea by Teresa that you can make for your mum for Mother's day or even give to teachers or co-workers for their birthday or Christmas present. This notepad organiser is super simple to make. All you need is a clear plastic stand up frame and some pretty Bella New York papers.......
Next Teresa shared a pretty mini book perfect for filling with photos of family and fun memories!
Alicia and Beck shared these adorable handcrafted Mother's day cards... Show your mum how special she is to you with a card made with love.
Christine shared a set of super fun ladybird invitations for her daughter's birthday who is slightly obsessed with all things ladybird! These cute little invites featured Bella glittered cardstock, bling. Fundamentals bitty bows, sentiment toppers and black cardstock.
What do you get when you cross glitter, bling, florals and beads together? A delightful canvas of mixed media fun that's what?
What do you do when you pick up a wooden owl from your local craft store? Why, you embellish It of course!!
Beck shared an off the page project featuring this cute wooden Owl she found at her local Kaisercraft outlet. She used lots of gorgeous Bella and Fundamental's products teamed up with Shimmerz products. The end result? Well, you be the judge...but we think she did a pretty fine job
As with all the members in our design team, there are no two styles the same. That's why we love following the fabulous projects the girls post for us each week. This month we put the spotlight on Teresa Horner to discover how this amazing creative mind ticks.....
So as you can see, the team have had a very busy and productive month. We are super excited to bring you plenty more in May. Can you believe we are nearly midway through the year? I'm still struggling to come to terms with how fast this year has gone.
Whilst there never is enough hours in the day it's always important to set aside time for yourself. That's why arts and crafts are the perfect outlet to forget about the daily grind, get lost in the moment and let your imagination run free.
See you all next month and Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mum's out there. We hope you have a wonderful relaxing day!
Happy Crafting xxx
