Hi and welcome to the Ruby Rock-it blog today. This month we are using lots of bling with our projects so since i am working on my daughter's wedding book i thought i would put together a quick page to share what i did for it.
My life is all about simplifying things these days so using bling is an easy way to add really pretty details to a simple and quick page. I used the "True Romantic"
paper line for my page since it had the perfect shades of lavender, grey and pink to go with my photo. Not to mention beautiful roses and lots of bling to go with it. I have a quick tutorial below to give you an idea of what i used so be sure and keep reading ahead....
To start my page i used the wood side of one of the papers for my background. It's a beautiful neutral paper to build on and made it a little more country themed. Next-- i matted my photo in white very narrowly around it and added the white die cut under it to add a lacy look to it. To bring out the lavenders in the photo i cut another rectangle just slightly larger than the frame in the lavender paper
from the paper line and then cut a white mat for it too. I like to build my pages so i always lay things out first before i glue it all. That way just in case i can move things around or change a color to make it pop more.
So now i went ahead and added a few strips of the coordinating papers under the center of the picture and a few doilies in white on either end. I liked the balance of this so i went ahead and carefully glued it down and then added the pearl pieces to the top and the bottom.
And lastly... i added silver letters to make my title along with tiny sentiment words in white around the page. I had a few white flowers left from a previous project so i added those in the corner and added a purple and pearl fireworks bling design circle in the middle. And that's it.
I think i am going to put this up in frame right now and maybe later in her book. And it only took about 20 minutes to do.
And since i had paper left over i made up a quick card with the same True Romantic
papers and layered them with die cuts and ribbon. I just got a new pack of letter dies so i tried it out on a piece of the silver cardstock that we have and it worked amazing as you can see. It cut like butter.
To apply tiny letters you can run them through an adhesive machine or use a tiny tipped adhesive so that you don't get glue oozing out from the edges. And tweezers work really good to put them on.
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure and check out all the other bling that is in the Ruby Rock-it store and stock up today... There are lots of weddings for summer so you never know when you might need to fancy something up a bit. Enjoy!!
