A Glitzy Fourth of July

Thanks so much for stopping by today on the Ruby Rock-it blog to see what's new with all of us.  I had some fun with the new Bella Glitz papers for our 4th of July holiday here in the states so i thought i would share the idea with all of you.

First i want to say that Bella! Glitter papers come in heaps of color choices and it is so easy to cut with dies.  I had a nice star die in my stash from Spellbinders and thought it would be fun to cut out lots of them and see what i could make up with them.  And this is what i did.  I made 2 cute star garlands to put on my mantle and this fun candle wrap and bow for a lantern i have outside.  And then i had lots more so i used them on a few cards to mail out.  It was super easy and even your kids can help with it.

And did you know that you can emboss glitter paper?  I didn't either --but it went in super smooth as you can see with the white piece on the card.  A little texture really makes the red, gold and blue stars pop out more.  And the letters are our Alpha stickers so it was easy to make the sentiment that i needed with all the letters you get in the set.
And i tried a new adhesive called Beacon 3 in 1 Advanced craft glue and it worked so good glueing all that glittery paper together.  Everything stayed in place perfectly.
And for this other card i cut out a few pieces from a banner die cut in red and white and glued them over strips of Blueberry glitter paper on one of the Fundamentals card basics in white .  I used the same stars for the front and added a tiny little ribbon bow to change it up a little.  Super easy and super cute.

Here is a closeup of the candle wrap.  For this i cut a strip of blueberry glitter paper big enough to go around my candle and then some and glued it with the 3 in 1 adhesive.  Then i wrapped string around it and glued on some more stars to go all around the candle.  These are quick and easy to do and you can slide them off and change them for all the holidays.  My candles are battery operated so i never have to worry about flames and all of that.
