August Moon Cards

by Becky Olsen | March 7, 2012

Is everyone enjoying the beautiful parade of August Moon projects? I know I am so inspired by all of the gorgeousness! (if that isn't a word it should be!)

The first card I want to share is a fussy cut floral all occasion card. I love to make all occasion cards, they come in so handy when I have an unexpected event, need a quick card to brighten someones day or a birthday that might have slipped my mind...

It happens, and having a few different styles to choose from in any given circumstance is sure to guarantee an appreciative and happy recipient  :o)

Floral Fussy Cut

Distress the edges and give it a rip, crimp a piece of paper (or accordion fold) and tuck under the rip. Trim another piece and distress that as well, adding little pieces of the same paper for a sweet peek-a-boo surprise. Fussy cut a flower and adhere with dimensional foam and of course I had to add those sweet little butterflies with a pearl in the center.

Also, cards are a great way to use up your beloved scraps! I have been working on my project for my post later in the month and had some great scraps that I just could not bear to throw away. So I pieced and trimmed them to fit a card top and stitched with a bright green to get a wonderful rustic, quilted look. The butterfly sticker was powdered and a dimensional foam square adheres it in place. I then added the lustrous August Moon pearls to the butterfly body for extra dimension.

Cards are a wonderful way to share a bit of yourself with those you care about, and this August Moon collection is sure to provide loads of inspiration to do just that.

Happy Card Crafting!
