Baking Memories in Grandma's Kitchen
It's time for another quick share from me for a project you can do with your kids who love to cook with you in the kitchen.  Ruby Rock-it has a brand new cooking set of papers called "Grandma's Kitchen" with adorable images and gorgeous colors.  I had so much fun mixing and matching the papers and i even added some of my favorite Ruby Rock-it goodies like doilies and wood chippies to it.

I created this book just by taking 6x6 squares of the papers and folding up an edge to create a pocket that you can put in the recipe cards for the kids favorite recipes to make with you.  It's so good to get them started early and learn about how to make good foods and who know maybe they can cook for you someday.
After i created all the pages that i needed i used a little chipboard and some corrugated card stock to make a front and back panel for my book.  I cut up the words and tags on the paper and then created this cute collage for the front .  I love that little old fashioned mixer and the doilies we have were the best to tuck under them.  It was really, really fun and easy.
Here is one of the inside pages.  You can even use some flowers, jute, and enamel dots to decorate.

And here is the inside book.  The pockets are just deep enough to put the cards in.  You can always add extra lace or paper but i thought this would be easy for kids to take our their recipes when they cook and then easy to put back.  This is one of my favorite quick books to do.
And some of the paper even have recipes on them so i cut one out and added it to a page to decorate.

And here is the page so you can see it up close.  I just punched the holes on the side with a Crop a dile to go through it all.  This project is great for teaching your kids how to measure, cut and then glue things nicely to create pockets.  And-- they have something fun to keep their recipes in.
I hope you like my idea for today and you can get the papers at your local store right now.  It's all available and the recipe cards are store bought too so it will save you some time.
Have a really wonderful day
