Cards Inspired by Natural Wonders

This month I have been creating with the brand new Botanicals range from Ruby Rock-It. I love the soft pastel florals in this collection, and of course I couldn't wait to cut apart those leaves. I'm not usually a big fan of birds on my cards, but this little guy really worked in perfectly sitting on top of the sentiment.

I started with Fundamentals basics card bases in kraft. I like how the colour adds to the natural tones of the papers. I then layered up some of the pretty florals that I wanted to showcase, with some of the green leafy background. You can't see the design in the paper, but the white on green made for an interesting background. I then repeated that element with a simple strip on each card to tie everything together.
Next I used my fussy cut pieces including birds, butterflies and toadstools.
I also used some Bella! florals. These come as flat layered flowers, but by scrunching the petals and adding some extra glue in the centre, they quickly become beautifully dimensional embellishments on a card or layout. I also painted the petals with new Francheville Crystaline Glitter Glue for some extra sparkle. I used this on the toadstools and fussy cut flowers too.
I love how well these cards came together. I am also working on a pretty layout using the same elements. Look for that in the next few weeks.
