Ruby Rock-It

Changing things up a bit!

by Amanda Jones | August 17, 2012

Hi everyone! It's Amanda here and today I wanted to show you a layout I created with the China Blue collection. I wanted to use a childhood picture of me and my brother taken one summer, many moons ago, which had a similar blue in it, but there were a couple of other strong colours in the photo - a mustard yellow and an olive green which stood out a little too much against the papers.

Rather than abandon the photo I realised that the background paper I had chosen would work perfectly to add a few pops of yellow and green with watercolour paints.

I coloured in a flower and a leaf on the paper, and then trimmed a smaller flower from one of the matching mini papers to colour and add along with my other embellishments.

I also thought I'd share a fun birthday card I made using one of our 3D decoupage designs, along with an A5 size Stepper Card and the Pink Fusion collection.

Add a little touch of bling to complement the glittered decoupage pieces and it's fit for any little girl's birthday!

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!
