by Carrie Walz | March 21, 2013

Hello RRBF fans! Carrie here today with a quick and easy tutorial for making a cute little recipe box (or a card box or whatever you decide to make it).

First the supplies you will need:

                                                                 Cardstock

                                  6 x 11”,6 x 7”, 4 x 10” (2), 4 x 5 ¾” (4), 1 ½ x 11”

                                                             Patterned Paper

                                   3 ½ x 10” (2), 5 ½ x 9 1/2”, 3 ½ x 5 ½”, 1 x 11”

                                                   2” circle punch (or smaller)

                                                      Round Corner Punch

                                                   Glue or Double Stick Tape

                                                                Velcro

                                                                Scorer

Punch one end (left/right side) of 6 x 11” cardstock and 5 ½ x 9 ½” of patterned paper...

Apply glue or tape to 1/3 of the rounded side of the patterned paper and adhere to the 6 x 11” card stock as shown in the picture. Do not apply glue or tape through out the back of the  patterned paper when adhering to the cardstock, I reccomend going about 1/3 of the way down.

IMG_3036
Starting at the non-rounded side, score the 6 x 11” cardstock at 1”, then score at 5” and 8”

IMG_3037
Fold the scored cardstock as shown in the picture

IMG_3038
Apply the 1 x 11” designer paper to the 1 ½ x 11” cardstock in the center

Score at the 1inch mark on both sides

Flip the non-adhered part of the 5 ½ x 9 ½” patterned paper and adhere the 1” fold of the 1 ½ x 11” strip under the patterned paper. You can now adhere the whole piece of patterned paper down now.

Adhere the 3 ½ x 10” patterned paper to the 4 x 10” card stock.  Repeat this step with the second piece

IMG_3042
Score the 4 x 10” cardstock starting at 1” and 1” thereafter...

creating 5 folds

IMG_3044
Score the 6 x 7” cardstock on the 7" side of at 4”

IMG_3045
Adhere the 3 ½ x 5 ½” designer paper to the 4” panel of the 6 x 7” cardstock

IMG_3046
Apply glue or tape to the 1” panel of the scored and folded 6 x 11” cardstock

IMG_3047
Adhere the 1” panel of the 6 x 11” cardstock to the inner part of the 3” panel of the 6 x 7” cardstock to create one piece. This will be your main piece of your box

IMG_3048
Apply glue or tape to the left and right outer panels of the folded 4 x 10” cardstock

IMG_3049
Adhere one side of the 4 x 10” cardstock to the back 4” panel of the main piece, repeat on the other side

IMG_3050
Punch a slot using the 2” circle punch to the center of all four of the 4 x5 ¾” cardstock (this is optional, you can make tabs on your dividers if you prefer) Apply glue or tape to the sides of the dividers and adhere them to the center folds inside your box. Apply velcro to the inside flap and bottom piece of your box for secure closing.

Decorate the front and you are finished!
