Feature | Creative Cards

by Alicia Barry | April 10, 2014

Along with introducing the wonderful new team this month, we are also introducing some brand new features to the blog. This month I have the priviledge of bringing you our new Creative Cards feature.

Sometimes a handmade card with a handwritten sentiment can just make someone's day! We have an entire product line with our Fundamentals that allow all kinds of possibilities with cards. We have imprint cards, stepper cards and all kinds of embellishments.

This month I have teamed some Fundamentals stepper cards with the brand new Empire Bebe collection to make some sweet baby cards. The collection was designed with pocket page style of pages in mind, but I have gone outside the box a little and used them to make some cards.

For the first card, I turned the card sideways with the fold on the right. While the card was open I trimmed a diagonal section away which left this fun cascade effect for the front of my card. The flaps were adhered in place before securing with ribbon. I have used a Spellbinders die to enhance the main image.

The second card is quite large. I have retained the stepper format, but trimmed away a triangular section from the front and replaced with a circular die cut for added interest. I have used Spellbinders dies once again to matt the main elements of the card, and tied the elements together with delicate white leaves and pretty little roses from co-ordinating paper. The cheeky giraffes were cut from a building card and adhered among the elements of the card with foam dots.
