Dress for a Mess | Glitzy Party Invitations
It is almost time for my daughter's birthday and this year she has chosen to have an art party. I needed to have the invitations made this week, and just happened to have the brand new Bella! glitz card stock sitting there on my desk twinkling in the sunlight. What better inspiration!
These were surprisingly simple to make, and I am so happy with how they turned out. The glitz card stock was the perfect addition. I didn't use a lot, but I think it really takes the invitations to the next level.
First I found an art palette outline online, and created my wording in photoshop. It was literally as simple as printing onto white card stock. I then cut them out, glued them onto Silver glitz (hint, use white liquid glue for the best results), then hand trimmed to leave the border.
For the paint splats, I just hand drew them on the back of the card stock and then cut out. I suspect you could also find a hand punch to make this job even easier, however I prefer the look of each one being different as a real paint splat would be anyway. For these, I used raspberry, cricket, gold, ocean and lavender. There are paler colours also though, if you prefer a pastel style. Again I used liquid adhesive to attach these since they are a heavier card stock.
Finally I used dimensional paint to add a few stray spots of each colour.
I got the little brushes from the Dollar store. I used my crop-o-dile to create a hole at the bottom which was the perfect size, and I didn't even have to adhere them in place, they sit on their own perfectly.
Now I have the rest of the party to plan out and decorate, and you can bet that I will be using more Bella! glitz for that, so be sure to check back from my next post with more matching items.
