Across the pond here in Australia we are heading into Spring and you know what that means, Lots a wedding and of course lots of special deliveries, so Aimee's tutorial is month is right on cue- thank you Aimee.
The essence empire bebe collection is just perfect for this season of celebration. The soft pastel palette and elegant flocked and glittered transparencies make it possible to render any project divine and quite frankly,  just simply stunning.

Hi, Aimee here from the Essence team and I am here to share with you my first ever tutorial. This should be interesting and possibly confusing, but you are always welcome to ask me questions in the comments if I leave anything out. Shall we begin?

Right now in the southern hemisphere we are just about to enter spring and as I reach my 30th year it seems as though all my friends and family are going through a baby boom. Plenty of baby showers, new born gifts and christening presents to be bought, but I really cringe at the thought of buying gift tags and cards. I try whenever possible to make them myself. So today I will be showing you how to knock up a couple of gift tags in a matter of minutes from scraps I had left over from other projects.

Here are the supplies I started with:

I have a cameo portrait, so there is often 3 inch strips of cardstock around. I could have cut the tags out with the cameo but to be honest it’s a lot quicker and easier to do it on my fiskars tag punch. I usually save up a pile and then punch a bunch while watching tv. They are super handy to have on hand for gift tags, labels, quick notes and such. I don’t usually punch a hole for ribbon and string until I decide how I am going to use them. These are for an up and coming baby boy shower so I went ahead and put holes in them.

When I was going through my scraps I came across half a striped Bebe Empire journaling card that I really liked, so I punched a tag out of that too. I used a few strips of paper from a Bebe Empire fit out sheet to create a base for the other two and then we move on to embellishing.

I am from the school of thought that less is more, so I kept it pretty simple. A Blue flower, a piece of bling, a few gems and an alpha later and now you have yourself some pretty respectable tags.

Now for one final finishing touch – ribbon and twine.

To be honest I had no idea I had this pack of grey ribbon, but the black and white twine is a staple for me. It was just a matter of finding which one worked best with which tag. I think baby Mason’s Mumma is really going to love them and I have a few to put away for the next little bubba.

I hope you enjoyed this super quick tutorial and decide to give it a go yourself.

Aimee xx
