Ruby Rock-It

Embellish!

by Pamela Young | September 28, 2013

Hi everyone!  Pamela here today to share some fun embellishing ideas with you for your projects.  I created a layout using the fun School Days collection.

From this layout I am going to share several embellishing ideas.  :)

1.  Ruby Rock-It sells coordinating chipboard and sticker embellishments with their collections...makes it easy!  I like to cluster these types of embellishments.  Why not also try making a row or a column of embellishments?

2.  Create your own shapes and embellishments with paint.  Here I used a thick layer of Mayan Gold Velvet Dimensional Paint from Art Anthology.  I sprinkled glitter on it before allowing it to dry.  Then I added some Ruby Rock-It bling and some stitching around it.

3.  I have always been a fan of paper-piecing.  And you don't have to have a fancy machine with dies to make fun shapes.  For my school house, I used a craft knife and just winged it.  :)

4.  Cut your own large shapes for backgrounds (again...just wing it, no perfectionism allowed).

5.  Add stitching to your design...it adds texture and interest and is really easy to do with a sewing machine.

6.  Arrange your journaling in a way that it adds to the design of the page.

Hope you have taken an idea from this post and are ready to use it on your own projects!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Have a wonderful day!
