Essence Creative Team | Life Album for May

The weeks have flown so quickly...

As I promised last time, today I want to share a bit about my PL style preferences. When I started working on my Pocket Pages I used to add a lot of details as I always do in a scrapbook Layouts. But I found it too overwhelming and the time spend on each and every page – never-ending story! After some time I found out, that what’s the most suitable for me is just big pictures with a few details here and there. So now I always use regular full size pictures or collages. This way my pictures go from the printer straight to the pockets without even cutting! This is really time saving!
I also love writing words of journaling straight on the pictures, even though I hate my handwriting. And I still pay attentions to the details, but as You can see – not many of them are present in my album these days.
This week I wanted to open differently with a big Hello - all because May is my favorite month {I am totally spring and summer-like girl}. So – I printed one picture in a few pieces (I kind of miss the proportions – but who cares, right?), and simply added a few words on the left bottom corner. And I really love it. Second part of my spread shows our lovely weekend, spend in the mountains. It was perfect! We started our week with healthy breakfast, and then we hit the road! We stopped in the middle of nowhere just to go hiking. Then our friend arrived and we started climbing! And we finally met our friend’s son Tymek – such a cute little boy! We couldn’t spend this free time better! I hope You like my spreads!

And here’s my supply list:

Empire Bebe foundation cards, East Coast building cards, Empire Bebe finishing pack transparencies, East coast finishing pack alphas and stickers, Bella Labels Cardstock Stickers, Studio Calico alpha and small elements.

Hey it's Caylee and I'm sharing my week sixteen life album pages with you today.
Those triangled Project Life pages that I have seen all over the show are a really great way to make a statement page. It was a very special week for me so I was excited about making use of these triangles. So excited, in fact, that I completely didn't fully comprehend the part about hand-sewing 18 lines. I used gold thread because I wanted to be fancy, but I didn't bother too much about being neat or pretty. It took me four straight hours but it was worth it. Love how I got to put sequins in my pockets for the first time, and it makes the statement that I want.
I recently bought a Silhouette Portrait and I've been having the most fun with it. My two favourite ways of using it so far are evident in these pages. I love scanning my handwriting in and creating cut outs of it, such as the one for family. I also love the "negatives" of the cut outs, like the one for "Adventure" in the bottom right corner.
I kept the right hand side relatively simple because of the busy-ness of the triangles. Three photos, one split up, and simple filler cards with a piece of journaling. I don't need one million photos or words to remember this week. It was one I will never forget.
Thanks for reading xx
Products used: East Coast Building Cards 2, Finishing Pack 2, Building Papers, Foundation Papers, "Week of" and "Adventure" from paislee press, gold sequin stars from a fabric shop, "family" cut with a Silhouette Portrait in my handwriting.

Once upon time I was super vigilant about keeping up to date with Life Album and then I had a kid. It used to be that I would wake up early on a Mondaymorning and edit my photos. I would take a leisurely stroll down to office works to print my photos and wrap my spread up around 4 in the afternoon. Yeah... that all changed when Mog came to live with us, in fact for her entire stay (3 Months) I got a total of 1 layout down. So here is a quick look at a catch up spread from November last year.

As you can see I am still madly in love the the East Coast journaling cards. Sometimes its really head to find journaling cards what will work with such viabrant colours, but with the East Coast the netural tones you can make little modifications like the the gold mist mask of the filler card so they will fit in everytime.

I also have a little crush on the mini gold alphas in the Empire Bebe finishing pack. A girl can never have to much bling right?
