There’s something about time which makes me feel a little excited and a little sad. It’s a paradoxical feeling for me. (Is that even a word?) The other day I could’t help but take a moment for myself to grab some photos of my kids asleep. At. The. Same. Time. Hallelujah. There’s just something so extra special watching them peacefully sleep, and did I mention before… at the same time. Such a rare and precious moment for me! I captured this moment and because it was such a highlight for me in my life, I used one of my favourite patterned paper to compliment my favourite range. Check out the awesome gold and white circled Market Street cardstock by My Mind’s Eye’s  which I teamed up with Essence’s Empire Bebe Range to accessorise the page with. I thought it was cool, calm and collecting with a little funk which is what my boy, Moss, is all about. I’m going through a minimalist mod phase in my interior loves which screams out on my paper creations, can you tell? I used Fiskars Hexagon punch to make the Empire Bebe shapes down the page in a monochromatic way. The photo I knocked up in photoshop, using a Paislee Press template to place my heading on the photo of “Time” which is the theme for the month. Even though this is such a neutral and simplistic design, I have fallen in love with it very quickly. A design that won’t date quickly which is a winner in my books.

In my take on this month sketch, I’ve tried to tell a story. I like the fact that the punched out circles accentuate the eggs in the photo. I also like that the cut apart strips add a graphic element, while highlighting the large amount of eggs we found and the fact that it was such an surprise. The East Coast collection worked SO well with the colour theme I had in my head and I am really happy with how it turned out.
