Exquisite vintage cards for all occasions
Hi and welcome to our blog today.  It's my turn to share a fun project for making cards so i thought i would grab some of my favorite patterned papers and see what i could come up with.
Two of my favorite lines of paper are the Faded Empire Collection and the "Heritage collection". Each of these are filled with gorgeous vintage colors and prints and would make fabulous cards.  And i also thought it would be fun to mix the patterns and cut them with a die cuts.  I kept the patterned paper prints small and it really came out nice i think. The die i used above is from Spellbinders and Becka Feeken.  It's gorgeous and really gives the patterned paper a water color effect.  I love that and it's not too overpowering for any of the pieces that i created.
The pretty pearls are pieces that i cut from the borderlines rhinestone border on the card at the bottom of this page.  I try to use as much as i can of things not to waste and this ended up being quite pretty.
For this card i used the same Spellbinders die but just the base piece of the die and I cut my piece of "My Lady" patterned paper with the pretty design on the sides and the bottom.  This made it perfect to add a small stamped die cut on the side and a pretty ribbon to finish it.  The base of both cards are from the new boxed cards from Francheville.  This set comes with lots of basics like white, kraft, black and grey so it was a perfect match for my papers.

And here is just a closeup of how i mixed the papers together.  It's really simple but really pretty !!

And lastly i wanted to use all of this gorgeous paper and make a really big birthday card.  The size of this is about 5x11 so i will have to make up my own envelope for it but i think it's worth it.  My sister loves vintage things like me so this will be perfect for her.
Supply List just in case:
Spellbinders dies: Emmeline Treillage, Francesca Label, Hemstitch Rectangles
Ribbon, Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Adhesive
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a beautiful day!!
