Glittery Valentine's Card

Hi and Happy New Year to all of you visiting our blog today!!  It's a new year and time to try some new projects and new products so today we are getting out our glitter packs and creating a cute Valentine card.  I used the Francheville Glitter pack called "Pretty in Pink" for my project because it has the perfect colors to use for all my Valentine projects this year.  It's gorgeous!
For this project i had a double layer chipboard heart that i had in my stash and thought how fun to paint and glitter up the top layer and then paint a shadow to go under it.  I matched papers with the glitter and found a fun Valentine stamp sentiment to put inside the chipboard hearts.
First you are going to paint the chipboard front and back with paint and let it dry.  The pink layer will be glittered but having that layer of paint will make the glitter really stand out on it's own and not be so dingy with the plain chipboard under it.
After it dries then add glue to the top of the pink and either sprinkle the glitter on (a couple of layers is better) or pour the glitter in a shallow bowl and push the sticky heart into it to coat.  That way you get lots of glitter on your heart.  Be sure and let it dry well before you glue it onto the purple heart.

And to make the card i just did simple layers under the colored heart and added a cute die cut for some added texture.  For the heart sentiment i first stamped it on white and then cut out the heart to fit the back and then glued it on.  It was a really fun card to make and of course i had to sprinkle a bit of the white glitter in the set on the card itself to make that glittery too.  And don't forget to get your kids involved... Valentines is a really fun time to have them make special cards for their teachers and friends.
   Happy Crafting everyone!
