Graduate | Celebration in an album

Hey Ruby Rock-it fans it's a glorious Wednesday here in the states and it's Graduation time at all of our local schools.  So I thought it would be a good time to create an album to save all those amazing moments and photos from your Senior Year in High School. You could give it as a gift or make it for your special grad like i did in my house.

My inspiration came from an amazing collection of papers called "A Year in Review".  Each page in the collection is filled with amazing cards, tags, inspirational quotes and other fun pieces to really have fun with and create something super special.  Read on to see all the other pages and some fun ideas for you to make your very own.

To begin this project you will need a book that has at least 12 pages so that you can create one for each month of the year.  I started mine with the school year in September and then went all the way until August so that i could include all the fun things that my daughter did in the summer after she graduated.  Then you will cover the pages in a plain cardstock for the background as above.

My book has 2 fronts in it so the outside you can see at the top but the inside set i covered in the border strip paper and then added the year in review that i matted to be the first page.

Then this is where the fun starts to create this book.  Each of the pages i decided to create a pocket for each so that i could add photos and all of the tags that you have on each page.  I didn't want to miss having space for anything since each of page has such wonderful words and sayings on each.  I also added the date tags and a few of the word stickers from the Year in Review set to fill in the spaces.
And then i kept going for each of the months using the papers and layering the pretty designs in the coordinating papers in the sets to add the perfect look that i wanted for my book.  I love that this set
is a really neutral color palette and makes it easy to add in maybe a school color to really make it pop or maybe the color for a wedding so that you could also make it for a bride and grooms first year.

Here is a closeup of the inside pages and some of the gorgeous cards that you get on the papers.

And you can also create fold outs on the pages to give yourself more space and do the pockets.  For January i made the page front like you see below with 2 of the cards and then the inside is with a pocket like you see above.  There is lots of space for journaling and photos now for the new year.

And to change it up a little i put the pocket on the side for January so that the tags can be pulled from the right side.  You could also attach the photos on the back of the cards and journal on the fronts to explain them and don't forget the dates.  I really love all the prints on this month.  Isn't it cute?
So.... you get the idea and now you can finish all the other months for your special grad book no matter what their age in school.

And finally here is the front of the book and since mine is for my daughter i added lots of Ruby-Rock-it bling and flowers too.  The letters are also from the set and are adhesive back so they go on really easy and quick.

This is one of the best projects i have made in a long time and i adore these papers so i hope that you will give it a go and create one for someone special in your life too.  Have a wonderful day!!
