Halloween Fun Explosion Box

Hi everyone it's time for me to share another fun project using all the awesome new products from Ruby Rock-it.  Today i gathered up some of the new taller black shiny card basics and lots of other fun things i had in my stash to make this super fun explosion box.  It was really fun and i tried to put lots of things i had to good use so sit back and i will show you how to make one.

So to make this project you will need the following items:
Orange, purple and green cardstock
Embossing folder
Border Punch
Silver, purple and black chalk ink
Double sided tape, adhesives, paper trimmer and scissors
Black eyelash yarn, green ribbon
Gypsy Soul Laser spider web chipboard pieces
So lets get started then...
1. You will need to use 3 of the cards that come in the package.  Two for the base and one to cut up for other things.  Take the first two cards and open them flat and score across the tops of two at 3 1/2 inches.  Then cut along the line to open it up for two sides of the folded box.
2. Then take the third card and cut 2 strips from it that are 1" by 4 3/4".  Score it down the center as shown and then attach the 2 cards to it to make a corner joint with double sided adhesive.  It should be a box now with the tops that fold down.
3.  Now you can cut 4 pieces of the wood veneer paper that measure 3 1/4 x 3 3/4" and ink all around the edges.  Adhere them to the inside folds of the box as shown.  Then cut 2 back strips that are 1" x 5 inches and score it 1/2 inch on both of the sides to fold in.  Glue it in the box as shown to add the center pieces when you are done.
4.  To decorate the outside of the box i cut small pieces of purple card stock and ran it through my machine with an embossing folder to give it texture.  Then i matted it with bright orange card stock and glued it to each of the 4 sides of the box.  After it dried i tied black eyelash yarn around the center of the box and tied a bow and a cute chipboard spider web that i had added silver chalk ink to.

5.  Then i set out to create all the fun little things sticking up out of my box.  I used Fundamental letters and numbers to make the signs and that cute little bat i did by hand cutting a bat with black shiny card stock and adding the flower with the rhinestones.  I even took pearls and made her little sparkly eyes.  Think outside the box and let your imagination go crazy, you never know what you may come up with when you do.
6.  To attach each of  the little pieces i used double sided tape to get a good stick on them and arranged them in the box like you see below.  To finish in front of the pieces i cut a small border in purple paper and glued it across to add more color.
7.  And to finish my box i cut another little black bat and added letters to say Eeek.  I also added a few rhinestones under it to make it shinier.  This was really fun and will need a big envelope to give it away in but i think the person i am giving it too will love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure and leave a comment or a question or two!
Have a wonderful crafty day!!
