How to turn plain into pretty

Hi Everyone and welcome to the Ruby Rock-it blog on this amazing Thursday.  I got to do a 'anything goes' project so I dug into my stash of gorgeous Ruby Rock-it paper and goodies and put together this pretty clipboard for my crafty to do lists.  I had an old clipboard that i was already using and this piece of beautiful paper so i set to work and it came together in no time.

So i started off with scraps from the Faded Empire Collection.  I had 2 big pieces (one with that gorgeous pattern on it) that i made the base with and then added bits of things from the Die Cut Pack, Wood Veneers and lots of Bella Florals and Bella Bling.  I love it when a collection has similar parts because you can layer them to create some really pretty details on your projects.

For the top i used a couple of the wood veneer swirls and then inked them with some gingerbread and white chalk inks to distress them a little.  Then i added a little bit of pink bling and a butterfly that i fussy cut from the papers that i had left in my stash.  I always save the pieces from other projects because you never know if it will work on your next project and this one did just perfectly.

And here is a closeup of the pieces that i added on the bottom and the papers.  I love all the vintage roses and pretty prints on this paper.  It is so pretty and there is so much that you can do with it.
Here is the Supply list for shopping:
Chalk ink
Adhesive, Paper trimmer, scissors, nailfile for sanding edges
Old clipboard
As always--- thank you so much for stopping by!!  And i hope you create something fun today too!
