New Mini Themes | Graduation Fun!

by Teresa Horner | September 10, 2015

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans it's Teresa H. here today with a fun Graduation project for "Lovin Layouts" Wednesday.  I had a fun chipboard picture frame in my stash and thought it would be fun to do it like a layout but this way you can put it up on the wall or on a frame of some kind on a table too.

To make my project i started with the new Graduation Mini Theme Paper pack that has the cutest papers and "Die Cuts" and "3-D Dimensional Stickers" that go with it too.  I used a chipboard frame and first painted it all black and then let it dry.  Then i cut the "Your a Star" paper to measure 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches.  To cut out the framed part i traced it with a pencil on the back and then cut out an extra 1/4 inch to match the outside edge.  Before i glued it on i inked it with black chalk ink to darken up the edges a little.

Then i cut a piece of the border strip from the "Graduation paper 3" and glued that across the bottom.  And I also glued on a band of black ribbon with white stitching to but under the Congrats tag that i used. It has 2 tiny holes so i just covered them up with 2 black pearl dots.

And for the side of the frame i used a vellum base that i cut with a Spellbinders die and then used the Die Cuts with 3D Foam dots under them to create this pretty collage.  I love the sentiment and the stars and all the other cute things you get in the set.  There is so much you will even have enough for cards and maybe a cute gift box or bag...

And finally here is a closeup of the top.  I cut a small green strip of the paper to match the bottom band and also the same ribbon that i used.  I loved that cute little Head of the Class tag so i added a cute bow to finish it off.  It actually went together super easy and it's going right up on her wall with all of her other photos from her Senior year.
Thanks so much for stopping over on this wonderful Wednesday and i hope i inspired you to get caught up with all those grad photos you have in a box and maybe makeup something fun for them.
Have a wonderful day...
