We are so very excited to announce our guest designer this month:  Audrey Pettit!

Let's find out more about her...

Hi everyone! My name is Audrey Pettit and I am from Cary, North Carolina. I have two adorable teenage kiddos, one of whom just headed off to college this fall. We share our home with a wee hedgehog baby, and a sweet adoptive Golden Retriever pup. I am the web director at a local landscape design and garden center, as well as a part-time writer and photographer. In my spare time, I love to go antiquing and thrifting, read, and of course, play with paper. I have been papercrafting for about a dozen years now. I first caught the bug after being invited to a home stamping party, and I’ve never looked back. My main passion is cardmaking and home decor, but I also have a great fondness for fabrics and embroidery, scrapbooking, and well.........pretty much every craft out there. To me, a good day is one that includes some creative play. I would love for you to come visit me on my blog:
And a huge thanks to the team at Ruby Rock-It for letting me play along with them this week!

I absolutely adore the mix of neutrals and metallics in the Celebrate collection, so I tried to combine them all in this first card. The classic black and white paired with the glamorous gold and silver result in a very elegant and eye catching look that I love. Then throw in a pop of color, and your focal image really becomes the star.

I started this card with a base of pretty Damask patterned paper, followed by several layers from the journaling card booklets and 12x12 Cardstock Cut Outs. The die cut cake and photo corners add easy instant accents. I dressed the cake up with a bit of trim and a vintage button. The glittered banner was trimmed from the die cut banner kit.

Once again, I turned to the adorable journaling booklet cards to create lots of layers on this next card. Some cards are used whole and layered, while others have design elements cut out from them, like the gold-edged label here.

Vintage 12x12 paper forms the base of this card. Then comes the layers of journaling cards and trim. The silver glittered fishtail strip and the pretty gold scalloped strip are from the die cut banner kit. The birds, black frame, and sentiment label from the die cut kit finish things off.

For my last project, I pulled away from the wedding theme to create an 8.5 x 11 layout using one of my favorite family photos.

Even though the Celebrate collection is geared towards weddings, I think it works well for lots of other occasions, as well, like with this sweet photo of my daughter and mother. I love the pop of color from my daughter's sweater combined with all the neutrals. Think it makes the photo really pop.

The background is Toile and Floral paper, and then once again I turned to the journaling cards to create a few extra panels behind my photo. Labels were also trimmed from the journaling cards and scattered about the page.

Border strips from the die cut banner kit are layered below the photo. The title work is a mixture of alpha stickers and that pretty large ampersand hand cut from the 12x12 Cardstock Tokens sheet.
