Ruby Rock-it Design Team......Spotlight on Beck

This month we're shining the spotlight on the lovely Beck.  Papercraft is a huge passion for this busy mother of two. Beck loves to share everything she knows in hope that she can inspire others.  Each week we are enlightened by her amazing talent and works of art.  Read more to find out what technique Beck swears by and where she gets her inspiration from......

How would you describe your style?

A real mix but mostly with an element of control.  I love to try anything, this girl knows no boundaries

How long have you been Scrapbooking?

I’ve been scrapbooking now for 9 years and still love it as much as when I started!

How did you get into Scrapbooking?

I started out more as a card maker and was curious about scrapbooking so I did a beginners class with my friend who was also interested.  Some of the things I learnt that day I still apply!

What are the main sources of your inspiration when scrapbooking/crafting?

Anything and everything.  Colours around me, design elements on clothes or simply the story in the photo.  I love to tell the story and incorporate that into my pages.

What are your favourite Ruby Rock-it collections and why?

My favourite collection is so hard to choose!  I adore the fresh and modern look of the new collections New York and True Romantic.  They have my favourite colour tones and I also love the watercolour elements

What’s the best thing about being part of a design team?

Getting to create with beautiful products and get to know people from all over the world

What are the best three words that describe who you are?

Determined, busy, mum

What are your five top passions in life?

Being mum to two boys, paper crafting, travelling, cooking, technology

What is your favourite quote or saying?

‘Awesome’

Share a tip or technique that you swear by.

Use pieces of cardboard from old boxes to add dimension to your projects.  I love empty Lego boxes the most for this.

Best piece of advice you could give to someone.

Try to stop and smell the roses along the way, as time goes past so quick and more so the older you get.
