So Very Thankful Box

Welcome to the Ruby Rock-it blog today and thanks so much for stopping by to see what new things we are creating with the brand new wedding lines.  Today i have a fun project to share that you can make with your kids to use all year to keep pictures and write down the things you are Thankful for each month.  You can even add extra pages inside to keep stories of fun things that you do together.
I have a quick tutorial for all of you to create this so relax and enjoy.....

So....My inspiration for this started with a box that i picked up at my local craft store that was just the perfect size for the new white and craft 6x6 cards.  They fit perfectly inside so i got lots of new papers and goodies from the new "Raw and Rustic" paper collection and set to work.

For this project i also used the new stamps called "Champagne Bubbles" and "Raw and Rustic".  You will also need the "Wood Veneer Letters and Numbers" to make the title.  I really love using these because you can paint or chalk them any color you want or just leave them plain like i did.  And lastly you will need one of the new bling brackets in pearl.
To start my project i cut pieces of cardstock in kraft and dark brown to fit the sides and top of the box and then glued them on.
I also cut smaller pieces of the feather paper for the sides and the pretty wood veneer paper for the top. There is a small strip of that pretty triangle paper that i inked and matted in kraft so i could add my letters on top.  Then  I inked all of the papers around the edges and then glued them down.

This is what it should look like after you glue all the pieces down.

Then i added the wood veneer letters that i inked and added the bling.
For the cards inside i decorated them with strips of paper that are about 2 1/2 inches by 6.  I stamped the champagne bubbles across each of the kraft cards in brown and then decorated each of them with ribbons and little bits of thing that i had in my stash.  This would be easy for your kids to help with.  And then you can write or add the months of the year to keep memories of your family and also to have each one of them write what they are Thankful for each month.  How fun would that be to do?

And here is a quick photo of the inside with the cards.  I also added a few more feathers to the top with a bit of twine and real feathers to go with my theme.  It was really fun and i look forward to filling it up next year with lots of fun memories with my family.

Thanks so much for stopping by and i hope that this will inspire you to make a fun box with your family too.  You could even do one for a gift with our wedding papers for a new bride and groom.
Here is a supply list for your So Very Thankful box:
Bella Bling
Kraft and dark brown cardstock
scissors, paper trimmer, adhesive, ribbons, twine and feathers
