After taking a well earned break from her design team role, Beckie has returned to Ruby Rock-it exhilarated with crafty-passion and creative ideas to inspire you.  Today we're shining the Spotlight on this lovely lass from Scotland as we explore this brilliant creative mind....

How would you describe your style? 

Shabby Chic


How long have you been paper crafting? 

I’d say about a lot of years!


How did you get into it?

Putting glue on my hands and waiting for it to dry before peeling it off at primary school was probably where it first began!  I have always loved to craft!


What are the main sources of your inspiration when creating your projects?

The papers and the world around me.  What is out there that I can make with paper?

Name a crafting tool/product you can’t live without. 

My granny’s old scissors and pokey tool! I still can’t find it after moving rooms though so a needle is having to do


Share a tip or technique that you swear by. 

Tip : Tidy as you go! (something I say but still need to do!)

Technique – inking to make things ‘pop’


What does it take to be a good designer? 

Believe in yourself, passion and time


What’s the best thing about being part of a design team? 

Creating with new products and getting fired up about them.


What do you like to do in your spare time? (Apart from crafting of course?)

Go to the gym, listen to music, watch films, walk pooch and hang out with hubby


What are your five top passions in life? 

Coffee, Cars (Mustangs and TVR’s) Running, Music, the great outdoors


What two things do you plan to tick off your bucket list in 2019? 

Book a ski holiday and get fit again


When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up? 

Nursery Nurse


What is your favourite quote or saying? 

Life is short … Live it to the full


Best piece of advice you could give to someone. 

You can do it!


Where is your ideal destination and why?  

Oh there are too many! Alaska, Nepal, Canada, Australia … to see family and friends.  Once you have travelled you are bitten by the bug!


What motivates you in life?   

My family and surroundings


What are the best three words that describe YOU?   

Crazy, Caring, Determined
