Thanksgiving Inspiration with Glitter

Thanksgiving Inspiration with Glitter

Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the least here in the States. I love this time of year, when we get to decorate the house for three months straight!
This month we are showcasing new Francheville glitters. I've used them in a couple of easy and simple ways on this project.

We already had the mini pumpkins as part of our fall and Halloween display on our front porch, so I decided to re-purpose this one as a table decoration. I used liquid glue to cover the lower part of the pumpkin that I wanted to cover in glitter. It may be easier to do this in sections, as the glue will drip. The glitters come in handy little shaker bottles, that make this really easy. I always work over a piece of paper and a small tray to catch any glitter, but try as I might, I still manage to get glitter everywhere.

I also covered the stalk in glitter in the same way before tying a twine bow around it. I created a little tag suspended on a bamboo skewer. To do the lettering, I used white liquid glue with a super fine metal nib, and just drew it in my own handwriting, then sprinkled the glitter over the top.

I created my card in exactly the same way. This could be a greeting card, or perhaps a Thanksgiving dinner menu card if you want to get extra fancy. I hand drew and cut the leaves from kraft card and used the same technique as the lettering to add glitter veins.
The background paper is from the iwood collection. The natural texture of the pattern worked perfectly with my nature themed elements being the pumpkin and the leaves.
