Tuesday Tutorial | Layers of Love

Today I have a tutorial to share that follows up on a technique I used in my BTP post this week. I have used the brand new Fusion papers to create my own floral embellishments which I used to frame this mini canvas.

Today I used the flowers to create this simple card.
First, I fussy cut a series of floral sections from patterned paper. I also cut s second set of some of the flowers, or parts thereof.

Next, I coloured each of the petal with watercolour pencils in two shades. I only went over the details, as I didn't want to load up too much colour.

I took a very small paintbrush, and just barely wetting it with water, went over the pencil marks, so as to blend the two colours to create highlights.

I layered up the additional flower sections with foam dots. to create dimensional flowers.

I used a Spellbinder die to create the fancy background.  I used a sticker from the new Krafttastic stickers as my sentiment, and tied some twine around the base of the card.
Finally I added some white microbeads to the glower centres. I kept the rest of the card really simple since the die cut was already quite detailed. This also allowed to flowers to really stand out.
