Under the Sea | Scrapbook Layout

On the weekend we went to a school production of The Little Mermaid, and the "Under the Sea" song has been stuck in my head ever since. It's no surprise then, that these cute new papers from Ruby Rock-It caught my attention for this weeks' project. I've had this photo from my daughter's mermaid party just waiting for papers like these.

I created a wave like texture using strips of rolled papers with strips of mesh gauze glued between. I also used the same mesh under the corners of the photo, along with some mesh tape.

The words strips are part of one of the patterned papers in the collection along with the sweet little mermaid kisses quote.

I wanted to make this layout shimmer and shine, so I dabbed some golf gilding wax very sparingly across my background paper, then applied some awesome brand new Francheville Crystalline Glitter Glue to the mermaid hair and tail. I also used the nozzle of the glitter bottle to create sparkly dots to mimic bubbles.

I felt like all the layers and textures negated the need for too many embellishments so I resisted the urge to go too silly with shells and netting etc... Sometimes the suggestion of a theme is enough without being too literal.
Supplies used:
Bella! Dream paper collection
Francheville Crystalline Glitter Glue.
