Becky's Christmas Traditions Projects

by Becky Olsen | December 20, 2011

Well, Christmas truly is right around the corner, and sharing some projects about our traditions is a fun way to enjoy what the season brings to each of us. I know I have been very inspired by the projects that have already been shared, and I hope you have been too!

My first project is a layout about the matching pj's that the kids get on Christmas eve. I used a combination of Bella Boy and Bella Girl for this layout.

Family Traditions

The other projects I am sharing are made with the Ruby Rock-It Christmas Cheer collection.

Card, bag and tree

First to make the tree, I made a cone from basic card stock and then punched out loads of circles from "Yuletide" paper, spritzed it with some Ranger mist in Biscotti and then adhered "Twinkles-Red" randomly on the tree. Festive, fun and a craft that the littles can help with  :o)

A card made from the "O-Xmas Tree", "Sentiments", some burlap, the Poinsettia "Florals", "Felt Ribbon", and "Icons-Kraft" was quick to stitch up, and would be easy to make a few very quickly!

Then a little gift tag tied onto a bag of white chocolate and peppermint popcorn is the last of the traditions that I am sharing. We love to make and deliver goodies to friends, neighbors, teachers and family. The tag uses, "Sentiments", and  "Tis the Season", and again super fun and easy to put a few together in no time!

Popcorn gift bag 2

The recipe for the chocolate peppermint popcorn:

4 cups of pop corn that is lightly salted

1 cup of melted white chocolate (add more or less to your preference)

1 teaspoon of Peppermint oil (adjust to taste)

2 candy canes that are ground or crushed in a food processor

Mix peppermint oil with white chocolate. In a large bowl, mix warm chocolate into popcorn until all the popcorn is lightly coated, lightly sprinkle crushed candy canes onto popcorn and chocolate and lightly mix. Place wax paper onto counter and spread popcorn out to cool and rest. Place in bag, tie up or enjoy out of a bowl with the family.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of Holidays!
