Do whatever I want?

by Sarah Hill | February 16, 2012

Sarah here today! Happy Thursday!!

Our wonderful DT Coordinator Rachel has declared this month "Free Form February!" In essence, we can do whatever we want!! Yippee!! That sounds easy right? Hmpf. Not really. I really never realized that I work better under certain types of restrictions. Hahahaha!

So here's what my plan is to show you all today: MIX COLLECTIONS and think out of the box!!! Yes, I know... this may be tough for some. It was for me at first, too :)This layout I actually made for my mom. It's a photo of her new pup, Macy. She is too cute! I used the Keepsake collection AND the new Nostalgia collection. I also used the new Sugar Candy paper (that's the background paper that I sanded a little). Even though they are different collections, they still work perfectly together!

I even used a shipping tag on my layout... you can get these SUPER CHEAP at your local office supply store. Just stamp a little saying on it, and it is a fast and easy embellishment! I tied some paper twine (yep, Ruby Rock-It exclusive goody!) on the tag and tied it in a sweet bow.

I made a sweet simple card using a simple idea.... use your sewing machine! It's a hot trend right now, and just a little bit of zig zag can add a lot of impact to your project. I've used the new Sugar Candy papers (that's the glitter background paper... YUM!) AND the new Nostalgia goodies.

I am beginning to become a card maker... I know, I don't know why I hadn't started before! I am loving making cards! My 3rd project came to mind when I was looking over the Nostalgia collection and found this little embellishment that said "SODA WATER 7c" on it. I loved the nostalgic feel of the tag and had to make a card around it.

"Enjoy the summer like when you were a kid".... it just speaks for itself. Grab a soda from the corner store and ride your bike back home :)

Don't you just love these mini alphas?!? The black ones come from the Fundamentals card-making collection and the yellow ones come from the Nostalgia collection.

I hope you got some inspiration, and I'd love to know what you're making next!!
