Flashback to April

Hi everyone!  Wow, what a month!  With easter, school holidays and Anzac day, April was notably a busy one.  We hope you were able to take some time out to 'chill' during the easter long weekend.

This month our design team lead us into the Easter spirit with their inspiring Easter projects.  They also delighted our Ruby Rock-It fans with a varitey of other creations including a spring floral garland, mother's day photo frame, party loot bags, a recipe card layout and lest we forget - an inspiring ANZAC tribute layout.  Our amazing beader Dominique, wowed us with a gorgeous bracelet piece.   So if you missed these stunning creations, today's post is all about stepping back and revisiting all the fun we had in April.  Enjoy!

The sparkly faceted rondelle beads from Just Bead It work perfectly with the glitzy theme of this design, and give an alluring mirror-effect in the sunlight which I just love.

The landing by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) on Turkey's Gallipoli peninsula on 25 April 1915 was Australia's first major action of the Great War. In this campaign, and in those that followed in France, Belgium, Sinai and Palestine, the nation endured the full fury and destruction of modern warfare and suffered more than 60,000 dead.

On 25th April Australians and New Zealander's remembered the ANZAC diggers who fought for our freedom.  The following layout is a tribute to the ANZAC's....

ANZAC Inspired Layout by Kim Kendell

Hello Ruby Rock-It fans.  Welcome to my blog post.  Today I am sharing with you a layout I have created in memory of the ANZACS.  To create this layout I have used a mix of patterned papers from different ranges.
ANZAC day is a special time for all Australians as we celebrate those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to enable us to have our freedom.

Spring Time in Scotland

It's Spring time in Beckie's part of the world which inspired her to create a Spring garland featuring the beautiful daffodils that are currently in bloom.  It was also the celebration of Mother's Day during April which prompted Beckie to create a special "Mum" photo frame to capture precious memories of her family.

Have you tried Apple Pie without the Apple?

Raelene shares her story behind the project.....

"There is bit of a story to how this project came about.
When I saw this gorgeous Apple paper from Ruby Rock-It, I wanted Apple Pie but there is one big problem as my kids and I have Fructose Malabsorption so we can't eat apples.  I was telling my friend who also has Fructose Malabsorption and she told me she found a recipe for a Appleless Apple Pie that uses Jatz crackers. Intrigued I did some googling and from what I can tell this started as a practical joke but as someone who can't eat apples but loves apple pie this is awesome."
"I decided since there is some excellent gastronomical science in this recipe that it would be a great educational activity to do with the boys.  However life chaos has meant I haven't baked the pie yet but I have converted the recipe to metric and written it on a index card so today I am scrapping that card onto a 12x12 layout."
