Fun 4th July Decorations For the Kids
It's always fun to celebrate all the different holidays in the States, and the 4th of July is one that I have actually not made decorations for before, so this month is a great time to celebrate the new Red, White and Blue paper collection from Bella!
This project is a pretty simple one, so you could even get the kids involved. I started with a tin can and filled it with dirt for stability. Sand would also be a good filler, or even coloured stones. I wrapped glittered card around the base, and embellished with layered strips of glittered colour in co-ordinating colours. I added in a strip from the paper pack also for a cohesive feel to the project. The gold chipboard number is from the Happy Dayz collection.
The rosettes were made by adhering two strips of paper end to end and cencertina folding them, then joining into a circle and flattening.  I die cut stars from the same glitter paper to help secure the centre of the rosette.
Pinwheels were made by adhering two of the papers back to back, then cutting into a square (any size). Cut a slit from each corner three quartes of the way to the centre, then curl each corner to the centre. Secure with a brad.
I included some extra stars as well. I used a hot glue gun to adhere the decortations to long lolly sticks.
Supplies used:
Bella! Red White and Blue paper collection
Happy Days chipboard alphabet
Glitz cardstock
